Yeah they said last night he's hit 900 feet of HR in the last 2 games.

I wouldn't be surprised if he had an empty plastic cup sitting in his locker last night.

Jake Marisnick's flyball percentage is way up (like 10%), and he still is striking out as much as he always has.

I suspect that basically what has happened is that for a guy as fast as he is, there is no longer the dumb "just put the ball in play on the ground and you'll be great!" happening but he has embraced the "hit the ball hard in the air" mantra.

In this day and age if you are dumb enough to get caught at it I would have no sympathy.

In his case I dont think hes juicing, I just think he's changed the angle of attack on his swing and swinging hard.

Going back to the Aoki thing -- the guy doesn't hit for power, but he gives another option off the bench. Sometimes, the Astros just need a guy to get on base or go deep into counts. Aoki is that guy. It seems like he can just foul it off and foul it off until he gets a pitch to hit. You don't drop a guy with Aoki's experience for a rookie with a limited sample size.

Fisher's strikeout rate in the minors is too high. When he brings that number down (likely in the next year or two), Fisher will have a permanent spot on this team.

And he's only 26. I wouldn't mind giving him a shot at starting CF for the next couple years. If we don't hold on to him, someone else will definitely want to pick him up.

Altuve is 3rd in the AL in hits (87) and batting average (.326). Nine points behind the leader (Judge .335).

the Tampa outfielder (Dickerson) has finally cooled off

There was an article that someone may google about how much work Jake put into his swing this offseason. I like the way Jake has been used lately and I think he and Aoki should flip spots basically. Jake's playing time should continue to increase.

altuve will for sure outlast judge on average. no way judge can keep that up all season.

Yes. And even though he slumped for a bit that pop has always been evident. Said it at the time but was shouted down that I preferred Jake over Gomez.

I am friends with a lot of astros fans and all of us wanted Jake over Gomez.

Mostly because Gomez was even TERRIBLE in the field. It was so strange how he was continually touted for his defensive prowess. Jake was always my pick.

Also, Jake has always been much better with consistent at bats. Something he has never gotten much of.

Reddick, Marisnick, and Springer starting is our highest ceiling by far.

I say roll with that as much as you can. Let Jake find his potential with consistent at bats.

I did.

Jake was not good offensively last year. He was part of black hole that was our 6-9 spots in the lineup. He slashed 209/257/331 with a -0.1 WAR, a .122 ISO, and a .229 BABIP

This year he's slashing .260/.343/.563 with a 1.1 WAR, .302 ISO, and .320 BABIP

That's a nice increase and he's done some great work, but last year he was not good.
