The hope with <Gallo> is that his bat is good enough that you can live with the mediocre defense.jtstanley4621 said:
The hope with Calhoun is that his bat is good enough that you can live with the mediocre defense. I don't think he's going to be an amazing player in LF, but if he can keep above water there defensively, I'm fine with what he'll give us. I don't think he's quite a liability there.
Yep.free_mhayden said:
That's pretty much what every team deals with.
If you can play +defense and +offense, you're an all-star.
I agree. Gallo isn't Beltre, but basically nobody in the MLB outside of Arrenado and Machado are that good. Gallo is just fine playing defense. I'd ideally like him to play 3B or LF. But he's just fine at 1B too.Ag2012 said:
When Gallo plays 3B consistently he is at worst an average defender, at best plus. He has a plus plus arm that is great at 3B or LF and he held down 1B pretty well during his time there. He is not at all a defensive liability.
You have to wonder if it is just a case of physical ailments have prevented him from fully recovering, if it is just mental, or he just doesn't have it.DannyDuberstein said:
Dang. He may be done. Probably looking at being a non-roster invitee next spring.
AND the Yanks are now beating Baltimore. Great day of results for us. Go sweep the doubleheader tomorrow and we're firmly in this thing.gigem1223 said:
Twins lose and the Royals getting their **** pushed in by the Tigers.
That's the crap I wish they would bench him for. Like in the middle of the game. Put Deshields at second the next half inning. Garbage.gigem1223 said:
Pitcher walks the first 2 batters and of course Odor proceeds to swing and pop up the first pitch. So sick of his stupidity.
