I think Profar is going to have a pretty good career with someone.

Let's not cast Odor aside. He just signed a contract and I'm sure he has pressure to deliver. He is 23 and is 3rd in MLB for HRs (28) by a 2B. Some have drawn comparisons to Jonathan Schoop.

In 2014, Schoop (22 then) went .209 BA, .244 OBP, with 16 HRs.
This year, at 25, he is .306 BA, .353 OBP, and 31 HRs.

2015: .279, .306, 15 HR, 86 GP
2016: .267, .298, 25 HR, 162 GP

I think Odor settles down in 2018 and goes .280, .320, 35 HRs.

I've said it several times on this thread, Elvis was just awful the first year of his big contract and the witch hunt was on but he obviously has been en fuego ever since. I fully expect Odor to have a similar next few years as he matures. The pressure of a big contract is real.

What more does ABD have to do to earn that last spot in the rotation?

Post-ASB Gonzalez put up 8 quality starts in 9 starts (before today).

He's gonna be in the rotation for the rest of the season.

Yep. Wouldn't be surprised if the offense stumbles in the game tonight. Seems like we stockpile runs rather than spreading them out.

Hasn't he been better in relief than starting? Off the top of my head, I think he had 1 maybe 2 good starts, then the rest was not so good. Seems that he has been a lot more consistent out of the pen. I think Gonzalez is going to get a couple more starts before ABD gets another shot.

Our pen needs all the help it can get anyway. And are we ever getting Bush or Kela back this season?

I think the Darvish game was a wake up. Take out that game (7ER in 4.1), and the 10 ER (in 3.2) given up in Miami, and as a Ranger, Darvish had great numbers.

Take out 17 ER in 8.0 IP and it leaves 129.0 IP and 44 ER = 3.07 ERA.

Picking up signs are part of the game. Using binoculars or other means are generally considered a no-no.

Boston was .268 Pre-ASB and is .241 since. Batting .189 in September.

Comparing that to:
Rangers, .240 and .257
AL Avg of .255 and .259.

Checked the box score as I left in the 8th... Was wondering who allowed it to get close... Then saw it was Ross and didn't feel that bad since at this point he's not a guy that is going to get the ball in key spots anymore.

Win tonight and this weekend series becomes extremely big not just for WC2, but potentially WC1.

Yeah he deserves only the ultimate of mop up duties. He has been garbage. I'm just glad he was able to eat an inning, although we spotted him with even more runs than he could give up.
