Until we get Kela, Bush and Diekman back, guys like Grilli and Barnette are gonna have to pitch in key situations. So far, so good.

Maybe Rodriguez ends up earning a meaningful role in this bullpen. He's forbidden good stuff and seems to have good command. Impressive 9th inning right there.

It's going to be a while before he gets here, but I think Ragans is going to be a very good pitcher for the rangers
Curious to see what will happen with the Houston series that starts on Monday. Looks like Harvey is going to wash out everything South of College Station. If the storm heads up to Houston over the weekend like they're predicting I'd be surprised if MLB doesn't postpone or relocate the series.

There is plenty to like about Ragans.
The only impersonation I've heard about with Ragans is Cole Hamels, and he's been doing that on the mound.

They're focused on making fastball location and command a real priority. I don't know if this is a normal development technique, but I found it interesting. Pitching is all about command over velocity.

I don't see any way the Houston series happens in Houston. Maybe they can play a DH on Thursday. School is already canceled. Low end rain estimates are now at 18". I'm just hoping it's spread out over 4 - 5 days so only the flood-prone places will get wiped out.
