I actually think that Griffin has shown a bit of progress. He has had some dumb moments tonight, but outside of that he has pitched well. Hopefully he's on the upswing. He was pretty damn good to begin the year.

I don't mind Griffin in the rotation, he's fine as a #5 guy. We've certainly gotten our money's worth.

But you can't hand the ball to a guy in the playoffs that is more than likely going to give you 5IP/4ER unless he has dominated that specific team (Gallardo vs Toronto last year).

In the playoffs most every contender's rotation consists of guys that are capable of giving you a gem.

Griffin has given you one gem all season -- almost 3 months ago against a mediocre Yankees team.

This guy has a problem not knowing how to give up the mic.

In the natural flow of conversation, you give intonation and cues that you are done talking and handing the conversation to someone else. This guy doesn't do that. He holds the conversation and won't give it up. Then he pauses and waits for Busby to speak. You get this lull, then, when Busby starts to talk, he doesn't have time to make a point and it throws off the back and forth.

I tell this to my wife all the time. I will just listen and finally say, "Do you know why I'm not talking? I'm waiting for you to let me know you are done talking."

Some people are just used to being cut off and when they get cutoff, they stop talking.

I listen to this guy and wonder when he is going to stop talking and allow Busby to chime in.

No chemistry there.

I agree, he comes across as aggravated. He has a much different demeanor than when TAG is there, IMO.

That's pretty much your typical AJ Griffin outing right there. Not pretty, got a couple of GIDP that helped... If the bullpen comes in and dose well he could escape with a 5IP/3ER... But it wasn't a good outing, it was an outing that teetered on the edge of disaster.

busby and TAG need to be sent to the retirement home and new guy needs to become gone guy. A house-cleaning in the booth is in order. I'm convinced the only reason they hired this guy is because he sounds like Eric Nadel. He's a hack, but his voice is similar.

We just can't seem to avoid the dumbass meltdown inning. I'm sure we'll go 1-2-3 in the top half.
