The frustrating part about AJ and Perez as well, is they look so dominant and then almost always hit a wall one inning.

I think they basically lose command of their pitch/es.

Seems like I recall Busby in years past say it is common for a pitcher to lose command for an inning, or so. It is how they adjust\correct for it and their ability to limit the damage, that makes the difference.

What often happens is you see a SP get a couple positive innings of 1-2-3. They get to the 3rd/4th or 5th inning and a base runner gets on. They have to switch from throwing from the wind up to the stretch and lose their slot.

That is what could have happened, here. If so, he should come out good to the 1st batter, and hopefully has a strong inning.

Save for the one home run, since the break, Desmond has looked a lot like the Desmond from the first few weeks of the season. Some terrible at bats.

Absolutely not. It seems like our pitchers for the most part do at least one unacceptably stupid thing per game... Bases loaded walk, lead off home run to a scrub bottom of the order hitter. I guess we have two so far tonight.
