The rangers and stars have the best front offices for sure of the dfw teams. I think they may be top 5 in each of their respective sports

Stars used to be one of the worst before the new management took over selling anyone worth a damn to make a buck. I would argue the Cowboys are getting better too despite a few boneheaded decisions Brandon Carr and Greg Hardy.

Stars were one of the best run organizations until Hicks bought Liverpool and overextended himself. He put Jim Lites in charge of the Rangers gameday experience... It was terrible. Bob Gainey was fantastic.

Hicks couldn't control himself... he overspent on the Stars' roster thinking he could just keep spending to over compensate. When he got financially in a bind, he took the initiative of gathering the other small market NHL teams to drive a salary cap in the NHL, encouraging the teams that a shutdown would be worth getting the cap.

In many cases he was right. The difference was, the smaller market teams had an organization and discipline in place to leverage the cap. Hicks did not. He pissed off the big market teams, as well as many front office people. He never adapted and the team took a beating. Additionally, when the Stars moved to the AAC, Hicks screwed a bunch of VERY loyal STH. There was a 3 year wait to get tickets, and within like 2 years of the AAC, there was no longer a waitlist. The biggest result of that was when the Stars started losing in the 1st Round, many STH just walked away.

I was a STH for 10 years. I averaged about 35 games/season and once I finally walked away... I went to 1 game 7 years. I went to 2 game this season and could barely tell you the roster. They call me every couple months offering me free tickets, to get me out to games. I just have no interest.

The good news for me is the Rangers reemerged as I dumped my Stars tickets, so I haven't missed the Stars at all.

Yeah I somewhat can relate. I grew up watching the Stars in the late 90's but the lockouts and the terrible FO selling everyone that was good drove me away. The new ownership has slowly drawn me back in recently but we will see how it goes.

Flip it over from the Aggie baseball debacle just in time to see that fat Korean hit his second dinger off Derek tonight. Not a good night for baseball at my casa.

Terrible pitching all the way around for the Ags and Rangers tonight.

Dr. Derek and Mr. Holland. He looks absolutely un-touchable in the 3rd and like pure garbage in the 4th. Dude needs Adderol like a smoker needs a cigarette.

Seems like we can never put together anything against Iwakuma. He always pitches very well against us.

Ya, I thought we beat him earlier this year, but he pretty much owns the Rangers historically.

As do most of the Mariners players unfortunately. I hate them so so very much.

Meh, can't win em all. Favorable pitching match ups the next 2 games. Take one and you're still up 3 games on the M's.

Don't look now folks, but ol' Tommy Wilhelmson has an ERA under 9.

Be nice if Wilhelmsen can continue to pitch like that.

Attitude and moxy, Desmond is offensive mvp so far this year imo.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Not a good offensive night from Odor. Hate to strand Desmond at 2nd here with no outs.

I would agree, but Mazara is pretty close.

5 doubles for Mazara and 15 for Desmond is about the biggest difference.

Odor has to start taking some more pitches. He thinks he's Pudge...but Pudge could hit .320 swinging at garbage.

Sorry guys, turned the game back on when I saw they were making a comeback, then haven't done anything since Desmond got the double. I'm backing out now.

I would say its more attitude, leadership and emotion that separates him from Mazara more than any statistics. I'm sure Mazara will develop the leadership and attitude in future since a YOUNG rookie, bodes well for our future.

That's an E1 and a dfa in my book. So what if Rua missed the cutoff man by 6 inches? The bases were loaded, and it was a harmless physical error. 100% on Tolleson.
