With Holaday getting the start... curious situation

We now have 4 Catchers on the 40 and 3 in Arlington.

Wilson (33) - .306 \ 3 HR \ 21 GP
Chirinos (32) - .267 \ 1 HR \ 5 GP
Nicholas (27) - .257 \ 2 HR \ 10 GP
Holaday (28) - .253 \ 2 HR \ 24 GP

I wonder if Holaday will get sent down, but given this last GS. Might there be a trade in process that will follow the game?

I checked and combined the 4 have a total of like 5 games at 3B.

We had 13 pitchers, so that doesn't surprise me.

However, we have 40 on the 40. In order to activate Chirinos, we'll have to dump someone from the 40.

Would that also be Luke? Will we move someone to the 40, or drop someone else?

I don't know - I saw this info on the Rangers twitter feed. Luke Jackson still listed on 40 man as of right now.

Holaday is Martin Perez's personal catcher, even though he's not really designated that way.

Also, Chirinos played 3B in his minor league days, but no real time there since 2008.

I think this move was done to keep from calling up Gallo... getting him here and then Beltre is fine.

I think once they determine what to do with Beltre, they will further determine if Gallo needs to come in.

Was Chirinos in Frisco and Gallo at Round Rock? Bringing in Chirinos might have been as easy as a car ride over, where as, I think someone mentioned RR went to Iowa on a travel day, yesterday.

Or the coaches know and won't make info public until after the game or games (if minor leaguer).

According to Nadel or Hicks, the player himself hasn't been notified yet, so they won't release the name until that happens.

According to MLBatBat app, Desmond's throw to home yesterday was clocked at 96 mph.

Maybe Luke Jackson got the ax. Telling him he was DFA'ed might have been a stop gap, until they could tell him he was cut.

Drew Stubbs? I think he is in Arlington. I think he was in the dugout a couple days ago when my son said "Stubbs." And I asked if he were in the dugout.

Phil Klein is the only other I can think.

A 27 year old RP with a 4.63 ERA in AAA... not sure what the market is, but made sense.
