So apparently the Rangers are the first team since at least 1900 to win an opening day game with just 1 hit
First ever opening day loss for Felix, too.

Also, going hand in hand with your Felix note, the Mariners would have tied an MLB record for consecutive opening day wins had they won today with ten. I believe Felix started 8 of the previous 9.

It was also the first time since 1993 that the Rangers won a game with only one hit.

I came to post this Danny, damn it. Funny thing is in the clip the Indians just lost to the rangers.

watched the replay last night. That was the strangest game. Was fun to watch. Hope our bats come alive today though.

I'm not counting on the bats against Iwakuma. That guy has dominated the Rangers the last couple of years. It'd be nice to get a good outing from Martin though.

This is very true. He has had our number. Between him and Felix the last couple of years it seems those have been auto losses. Maybe the juju has shifted though

The Rangers actually have a pretty impressive record against Felix, especially at the Ballpark. Not saying they light him up, but they do win games against him.

I would actually guess that Felix's worst record against in the division is against the Rangers. I'm guessing he's below .500 for his career. And he rarely wins T RBiA.

Except he won all his starts against us last year iirc. They made a point about it on the broadcast that since he stopped engaging Beltre so much he has pitched phenomenally against us.

3 runs on 1 hit. Gotta love baseball.

Felix was 5-0 against us last year only giving up 7 total runs. He crushed us.

At the start of last year he was 12-21 overall against us.

My only complaint on the otherwise beautiful day -- if the Rangers are going to do all of the "security theater" BS that causes the lines to wrap around the stadium, then they need to actually start making an attempt to enforce the "season ticker holder only" line.

Were the lines bad yesterday? I don't think I've ever waited more than 5 minutes to get in the ballpark, World Series included.

Not terrible, but if you tried going in homeplate entrance at around 2:30-2:40, you were met with just a glob of people because there's no indicators on how the line should flow (so people from all directions just converge on one point).

Only about a 20 minute wait, which isn't terrible... I just think if they are going to do the pointless security measures (I don't think one single person actually set off the metal detector and bags weren't given more than a passing glance), then they need to start making sure the STH line is only used by season ticket holders... People have started realizing that they don't actually verify anything at that gate and it's become just as bad as the regular entrance on high demand games.

Delino has the worst arm of any outfielder I've ever seen. He has absolutely zero shot to throw anybody out from anywhere

I've had season tickets since '92 and I've never seen that area as crazy as it was yesterday. Season ticket parking was full more than three hours before the game. We got there an hour early and had to park a mile away from the stadium. Even then, there was a throng of people moving to the entrance. Once we got to the gate, the line moved quickly as they literally had people people walking shoulder-to-shoulder through the metal detectors. There was an unreal amount of tailgating before the game. I've been to Cowboys games and Aggie games in that area and never have I ever seen that much partying in that area. If nobody told me what was going on, I'd have guessed it was a bro-country concert.

I've noticed that it takes me awhile to get used to the big league zone at the start of the season after watching college since February. I keep wanting these pitches that are three inches off the plate.

Good for fans, bad for the players. Choo already lost one in the lights tonight. Staples Center put those lights in a couple of years back and it's been well documented, at least for hockey, how much the players despise them. With time, you can get used to them, but it sucks if you are in their beam.
