I think you guys are confusing the "pick" by Moreland with him just trying to stop the ball.

Even if Mitch picks that, the runner is safe -- the throw from Odor was offline, Moreland was just trying to save it and have a chance at getting the guy at home.

I was actually here all sason, just busy the last month of it. And yes, this was an epic choke job and hopefully shined a spotlight on our weaknesses so that JD will fix them.

That's not an easy DP but with a catcher running that is a DP more times than not. Two errors on that play allowed the run the bad throw and not holding on to it.

If there's two "errors" on that play, they are on the bad throw from Elvis and the real bad throw from Odor.

Poor setup throw by Elvis. Worse by Odor. All Mitch had a shot at was knocking it down to leave himself some chance.

Terrible way to end the season, but they never did quit. Bush is your closer next year, that was some really great pitching after the lead off double.

Mitch did a good job of keeping that out of the dugout.

No way. Moreland had it squarely in his glove and it got away. Watch it again.

If the ball is picked cleanly he easily gets Donaldson

Bush couldn't have done really anything more. Got us out of that inning if the play is executed correctly. They did just about everything they could, but you're in an effing hole when Hamels sucks and darvish struggles but you don't can't put together any clutch hits.

It hit the webbing. A tough scoop but first basemen make those all the time. If he scoops it cleanly the runner goes back to third or is out by a mile.

I'm not sure how you can look at that last play and pick Mitch Moreland as the culprit.

It was a bad feed and a bad throw. If the SS and 2B execute, we're still playing baseball tonight.

If Lucroy doesn't have a passed ball, we're still playing baseball tomorrow.

I am probably on the board of directors for the Mitch Moreland Hate Fan Club, but that ain't on him.

Bad feed from Elvis, but he pulled his weight.

Bad throw from Odor, but he pulled his weight.

Possibly bad scoop by Moreland, but he pulled his weight.


Lucroy, Beltran, Beltre, Hamels and Darvish did not.

I get that everyone hates Mitch for his .233 batting average, but it's ridiculous to watch that throw from Odor and then blame Mitch for the run scoring.

Hopefully it happens. Remember Tolly got the job basically because he had it all last year.

I think what bothers me the most is that we were barely even competitive. We had one lead, and it lasted less than an inning.


Then again, I would probably rather get swept than lose in game 5, if we were gonna lose

I didn't like the matchup but never thought we'd be swept after all the comebacks this year.

Been a fun season. Hate to end like that.

Enjoyed finding this thread. Never ventured to the MLB board before this year.
