You dont have to be a good bunter to poke one to the left side. In fact, the harder it comes off the bat, the better. Cant convince me that he couldnt get competent with some work at it

There's guys that are good bunters that don't always get it down. To ask a guy that isn't good to not only get one down, but get one down to the opposite field... Well, it's not going to turn out well most of the time.

Mitch has just been exposed as a hitter with the shift.

Is it that hard for a rather average major leaguer to learn how to place a bunt? It wouldn't even take a good bunt with the shift on.

Dont get me wrong, I wish he would do it as well... But I think you guys take for granted how easy it is... I've seen Elvis -- who is a good bunter -- fail to get bunts down dozens of times over his career.

To think Mitch Moreland is going to be able to drop one down to the opposite field against a plus reliever... Well, if there is an advantage over him trying to rip it into the shift, there's not much of one.

The thing is that it barely needs to be a bunt. You aren't having to worry about deadening it or any of the finer points of a good bunter.
