He had not thrown more than 2.6 walks per 9 innings since he was a rookie.
A.J. Griffin?
He's also throwing 3.8 walks per 9 innings.
His career is a smaller sample, but he didn't throw more than 2.4 walks per 9 innings in his two years with Oakland.
Martin Perez?
He's the third starter throwing 3.8 walks per 9 innings.
His career is also shorter, but he hasn't thrown more than 3.3 walks per 9 innings since he first broke into the league when he threw 3.6. He was at 2.7 in 2013 when he was a rookie of the year candidate.
