Its definitely partially about pitch counts. Its about both.
Guys get up and start throwing and slow down, maybe sit down for a minute, etc. quite frequently. My family used to have seats out on the Home Run porch and you'd see all sorts of movement (and hijinks and shenanigans, that's what I remember).
Most often its when you're playing matchups and you know a guy won't pitch against _____ player coming up in the order.
Him going out and throwing 15 pitches, plus the extra warm-ups in the bullpen and on the mound between innings...Dyson is certainly more tired than he would have been had he sat down when that home run was hit.
But I don't have an issue with him getting the work and the Rangers not ****ing around with this game.
