Right now is the perfect time to trade Carter with how hot he is. Hopefully someone bites.

Appel's day is done with a line of 5.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 4 SO. Although he only threw 83 pitches, I agree with the decision to pull him before he could get into trouble as building confidence is one of the main tasks in his development at this point.

And they score 4 on the next pitcher in the 6th... So not like they didn't have bats.

I Dont think they trade Qualls. Has already stated he wants to be here, and wants to retire here. I think Sipp is good as gone, though.

The Astros are “very busy” taking calls on righty Jarred Cosart, tweets Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. Houston has taken lefty Dallas Keuchel off the market, however, though it always seemed a longshot for him to be dealt.

Houston has been said to be willing to listen on its young starting pitching, which has featured some better-than-expected performances. Of course, the biggest surprises have comes from Keuchel and Collin McHugh. Unsurprisingly, the Astros appear more hesitant to deal either of those arms.

But Cosart, 24, has turned in a solid season in his own right. He owns a 4.41 ERA through 116 1/3 frames with 5.8 K/9 against 3.9 BB/9 and a sterling 56.5% groundball rate. That has been good for a 4.02 FIP, 4.28 xFIP, and 4.42 SIERA — hardly ace-level numbers, to be sure, but useful and promising enough given his age. Of course, much of Cosart’s value lies in the fact that he will not even be eligible for arbitration until 2017.

I think it's likely we trade Sipp. I think Luhnow would like to trade Carter. And if he gets the right offer, he'd deal Cosart.

Could be a busy day.

Trading Cosart would be a huge mistake. Count me in the camp as fully against it. Not only is he young and likely to still improve, but he's a hometown kid that the fans could really appreciate as this team grows. I would only be willing to give him up in a package for a stanton type calibur player.
