Nats signed him to a new deal in 2016... So while that deal (which amounted to $25m/year for 2017-2019, though had 4 extra years of liability on Washington's end if he didn't opt-out) certainly paid dividends, it didn't really change whether the decision to not pitch him back in 2013 was worth it... They certainly didn't get a sweetheart deal.
