Looks like the Cubs have traded Dan Vogelbach to the Mariners for LHP Mike Montgomery. I guess that's Theo's way of giving the finger to Cashman asking for Schawrber for Miller.

I don't think it is a difference making arm that will impact October, so I am not super high on the deal. Maybe that is the market on RP this year though.

The bullpen was/is in need of a big upgrade, especially from the left side. This is the first step. He's not an Aroldis Chapman type of arm but Theo isn't going to give up a ton of young talent for a rental.

I get that and am not mad about it. Just looking at his advanced stats it seems like his ERA is a bit lucky so far and he has been benefiting from a high ground ball rate, which he can hopefully sustain. I'd prefer a few more Ks but I agree - he is a piece of the puzzle.
