It's ironic that on the night Rudy gets fired, the Cub batters walk 7 times 4 of whom scored...even more ironically, which were all four runs.

Some are speculating that this may be Dempster's last start in a Cubs uni. Lots of speculation about the change in the rotation and his sit down with Theo in the stands before the second Tiger game. It'll be interesting to see if it happens and what we get in return.

Kicked the **** outta the White Sox tonight. 5 HR's including Castro, Soriano, LaHair, and Soto. Would love to sweep them in their house like they did to us.

So the Cubs are 12-11 in season openers and 11-33 in remaining games.

Also, of note last night, LaHair made his debut in RF. When Theo and Jed said they wanted Rizzo to get a full season of at-bats in the minors, did they mean over this season and last or this season? Curious.

i'm going to guess it's a total of 500-600ABs in the minors. That's usually what GMs mean by that phrase

Nice. I didnt think they were going to try and make that move w lahair. Regardless, Rizzo is obviously the stated future and all the talk around lahair always goes "he's a pleasant surprise but it can't last". again, obviously he's really slowed down.

I'm guessing they'd still jump at anything they could get for lahair this year, but he put in his time in the minors, so I'm rooting for him to produce and find a place to play.

Also didn't know but internet claims other teams often inquire about Barney and the cubs may trade him

What I understand regarding Rizzo is that after Saturday the Cubs will get that extra year out of him. The rumors I've been reading have him up next week. Wouldn't surprise me given how they are just now moving LaHair around.

i really started to hate this White Sox team this week. having to put up with Hawk Harrelson and the self drama of Jake Peavy and of course AJ... and for some reason even just looking at Alexei Ramirez annoys me. maybe it's all the .230-.240 hitters who rake against the Cubs. the only one i can't get myself to hate is Konerko.

Of course tomorrow would be the perfect time to bring up Rizzo as the Cubs are not on WGN again until Friday afternoon's game against the Disastros.

Alexei gave one of the Cub pitchers the stink eye for throwing him inside. It was really much ado about nothing. But you know, it fits in with MO of the white sox.

How about last night? Was that frustrating or what? Saunders gets scratched and they put in some unknown guy. The Cubs know he's just throwing high heat, that he's even trouble getting into the strike zone and they help him out by swinging at bad fastballs and bail him out of some good opportunities in the process. Seriously, at one point he had walked two batters in a row to load the bases. Valbuena comes out and strikes out on three pitches. How do you do that?

Another bad outing for Shark. He may have hit a little bit of a rut. Coleman on the other hand, has not been good for a while.

Read something where the author was guessing that Shark is starting to wear down under his new workload. Sounds plausible.

Yeah, I've seen some of the Internet voices start to clamour that he be moved back to the pen. It seems kind of ridiculous to me. He has had two bad starts in a row. There's not really anything to lose this season by letting him start the rest of the year. He's young and if management feels he's a starter in the future than keep him in so he can learn from his struggles of a full season.

If need be, give him an off day. Pitch Casey Coleman instead
