NBA refs contracts are based on the regular season. The refs are ranked and the best refs get playoff games. All playoff games are essentially their year end bonus and they get paid more for playoff games.

Series sweeps are bad financially for the NBA refs.

Minn is up 2-1.

Earlier this year a lot of us said Minn was a tougher matchup because we don't have the physicality to match up with Randle/Gobert/Reid down low. At the very least, it looks like it will be a rough series for both teams and Gordon is currently hurt.

Meanwhile the Lakers have just dominated Houston up and down despite not having Reaves or Luka. This Rockets team is just wildly exploitable and they don't have a first round pick this year in a really good draft plus they are gonna have some apron issues if they give Eason a good extension. But Eason's BBIQ seems around room temp, so he probably lost a lot of money this year. He turned down a >100M extension last year.

Love AC and glad he represents A&M well, but this was one of the biggest btch moves I've seen in a while.

I think Minnesota is clearly the tougher matchup for us offensively. Gobert is a truly elite rim protector and McDaniels is maybe the most versatile wing defender. It's also a series where you would really appreciate having Sochan to get physical with Randle.

Denver has the best player on the planet, but the fragile health of Gordon and Watson and the inconsistency of Braun and Johnson make them much more beatable IMO.

Imagine if either team got the whistle that SGA, Luka, and LeBron gets.
