Harper should have been in during the final 3 min stretch too. Julian isn't getting open and Harper was getting to the elbow at will. Run motion with Fox, Castle and Harper and let him work to the elbow.

Well that sucked because we had a chance. Too many pull up middies down the stretch. Gotta force the issue and get to the line (too many missed free throws, as well). Hopefully Wemby is back quickly, but we've got time to game plan and prepare for life without him.

I said this after the Denver loss a couple of weeks ago, our offensive organization in crunch time is really poor right now. The first 45 minutes of the game is no problem, but when things get tight and each possession matters we don't seem to be able to get organized and get a quality look. Wemby being out was part of the issue tonight, but this game was in the bag until things got tight and we stopped executing.

We made the age old mistake of trying to run clock with 4 minutes left. Just keep pushing the pace and playing offense. Our late game offense hasn't been great in general for this reason. Id also prefer to see Harper and maybe even Keldon in there.

Gonna find out what this team and coaching staff are made of. Whole team looked lost in the moment.

I don't think we see wemby in Portland. Coming out of there down 3-1 will be a disaster.

Not looking good for our chances? Do you not watch basketball? This happens all the time and its happened in several series THIS week.

Obviously if Wemby is out a long time that will hurt but the Spurs have plenty of talent to beat the Blazers with or without him.

Yea Spurs can still best the blazers without Wemby. Deni isn't 100% either. That's what makes yesterday's loss so frustrating too is that Deni didn't even score in the 4th.

Barnes looks like his injury is serious. More CB mins incoming.

Definitely not time for cliff jumping. Just need the guys to buckle down and play smarter down the stretch. Without Wemby the margins between winning and losing are much tighter. We kind of take for granted that teams can't shoot layups or throw lobs against us because we have the ultimate eraser back there.

Tough loss. Fox has to be better, hope the coaches can use film to show him he needs to use his teammates and not try to play hero ball.

Two things I thought Portland did really well last night that the spurs will have to figure out:

1) Offensive rebounding. Without wemby we are playing small, but a lot of boards were due to getting beaten to the ball.

2) Portland was getting hands on every lob we attempted. It was pretty incredible how active their hands were on defense.

Most disappointing yesterday was no one stepped up to be the dog. Vassell tried in the second half but then for some stupid reason we went away from him. Then asked him to try to win it at the end with a difficult look.

Gotta find a way to get Champegnie more looks from 3 also. I know we have shot the ball from distance better than most thought we would during the year but the game slows down in the playoffs and our lack of spacing is starting to show itself. Even Vassell who has played great the first two games was 0/5 from 3 last night. Not going to win many games shooting in the 20%'s from distance. Champ needs to throw up 6-8+ looks from 3 a night imho.

You don't beat that with iso hero ball crap unless you're SGA. If Mitch can't figure that out for the next two games without Wemby we are done.

Harper's was a jammed thumb, just needs some ice and rest.

We definitely got away from good ball movement down the stretch.

Portland did a really good job of taking away the easy lobs and grabbing offensive rebounds all game. Basically they adjusted and we didn't. Time for Mitch to counter.

Fox has to be better for what he is paid . His turnovers were awful and he wasn't creating for anyone. If he wants to stick around more than another year or two he has to be better. Harper needs to be in during crunch time if we don't have Wemby.

Only having one decent big without Wemby hurts us big time. Kornet cant play the whole game. Keldon needs to step up, he has not had a good series.

Win one in Portland and we are fine. I think last night will go down as a good learning experience for our young squad.

Harp has got to play more. Particularly if Steph and Fox continue to struggle.
