I more disappointed that the Mavs signed Naji over DJJ. The contract itself isn't bad, but it still feels like a sideways move at best considering that DJJ seemed to fit in really well with the team. I'll miss DJJ. One guy I would like the Mavs to kick the tires on again is Thybulle in Portland. He signed an offer sheet with the Mavs last year so there was mutual interest. Klay would also cost at least Josh Green as well. Since the Lakers are upping their bid, I'm worried he would also cost you Hardy and/or OMax.

I have come around a bit on Marshall. He will be much better offensively than DJJ, but not as good of a point of attack defender or as good a lob player. DJJ was under 34% from the corners this year while Marshall was 42% from the corners. Hopefully these numbers stick, and could even improve. Marshall also provides a little extra off the dribble and is a solid passer. Hopefully Marshall also is good taking on a larger load of guarding guards and the other team's best wing.

Agree that I'll miss DJJ's athleticism and chemistry with the team. The switch seems to make the Mavs much better offensively but slightly worse defensively, probably.

Edit: And I do mean only very slightly worse defensively. Marshall is a very good defender, but I don't think he always guarded the same guys that DJJ was asked to for us. Marshall is just under 6'6" without shoes and has a 7'+ wingspan like DJJ. He also had some of the biggest hands in his entire draft class if you are in to that sort of thing

Don't get the klay hate. Our undoing in the playoffs was our shooting. We shot like 20% from 3 in the finals and klay shoots about 40%.

I'm 100% out on Klay if we have to give up two of Josh, Hardy and Omax. I don't even love it if we only have to give up Josh Green (because he is still so young and can still improve some).

I'm somewhat hoping that y'all are right and that Klay wants to stay in California and is using the Mavs as leverage. Klay is borderline how Peja was when we signed him our championship year. That's an exaggeration, but other than being a spot up shooter, he can't do much these days on either end.

But that wasn't just because role players missed open looks created by Luka and Kyrie. The Celtics were content to stay home on shooters. Having Klay would not have changed any of the Celtics court positioning or our offensive math, in my opinion. A good amount of the 3 pointers we missed were Luka and Kyrie, not role players missing shots the Celtics were giving them.

The Mavs appear to only be giving up Green and nothing else. The rest of the compensation will be on Charlotte's end.

Green is definitely going to Charlotte, and it's a multi-team deal, so we will see if any other draft capital is included. Doesn't look like any other players involved from a Mavs perspective.

Such a huge upgrade for our 3 point shooting. Just imagine how different that Boston series might have been if we had an elite outside shooter hitting all those open looks we had from Kyrie/Luka penetration.
