Glad i was able to go last night! got an alert from houston rockets ticket site about discounted tickets and jumped on that quick.
Lots to love about last night
- more signs that Jalen Green is maturing and can be THAT guy. Love that he isn't settling, and finally taking what the defense gives him
- Sengun taking it to Lebron in the post and getting the best of him a couple times was nice. Pretty sweet double double from him
- really solid performances form Martin Jr. and Christopher

Seeing LeBron passing up shots and getting posted by Al P and hearing Jalen say the plan was to go after Carmelo did two things for me:
1. Makes me love the young guys even more.
2. Makes me sad for my fellow older millennials who are realizing our primes are a thing of the past.

Beating the Lakers (even though they aren't very good right now) and the Grizz in recent days, and looking good while doing it has me more optimistic about our future. Love that Jalen is finding himself and it looks like Sengun is going to be a stud.

The team with the worst record. It would be very unlikely that if two teams tied for the worst record that neither would a top 4 pick.
But if for some reason it happened. It would basically be a coin flip to see who got #5 and who gets #6.

To me, Banchero tops out as a Battier. I prefer Smith. I agree Holmgren looks like bust potential, but this team needs a shot blocker tremendously and his other skills are a huge bonus. Can you imagine a Gobert on defense with a Durant lite on offense? He could be that. In that sense, I wouldn't fault them by taking Holmgren. But that's a scary ass pick.
Each of the top three has their flaws.
I think Holmgren has the most upside. If he can add strength he is a high level two way player. Boom or bust.
Banchero is very skilled offensively, but is a limited defender and may be a little too much of a ball stopper on offense.
Smith has a nice floor as a stretch 4 with some defensive versatility, but he didnt have to play in the paint a lot so Im not sure how much upside he really has. Not sure how much of a post game he ever ends up developing.
Id probably lean Holmgren for overall upside, but I dont have any strong opinions beyond that. Its definitely a step down from last year's class. Glad we have a strong core to build around already. Reduces some of the anxiety around the lottery and what specific pick we land.

Salivating at the thought of a Holmgren/Sengun front court. Then Jalen and the guards cutting all over the place. If Jalen's jumper sticks, we might be cooking with gasoline in three years.
Its a tough call with these three. I've been leaning Jabari lately due to his shooting ability and perimeter defense.
I'd like to see us nab Mark Williams with the Brooklyn pick.
