Talking loyalty.....but wants to be traded. Rockets have done everything they can to make him happy throughout the years.

How exactly does that work?!?!?

I'm glad we don't want Kyrie. No reason to trade one entitled emo bihtch for another.

Stephen A saying Rockets are considering allowing Harden to just sit at home through the rest of the season unless they can find a trade they like.

Absolutely, no need to bring in a different disgruntled star.

It's definitely preferable to him polluting everyone else on the roster...or getting injured because he's carrying about threehunnit lbs out there.

Kyrie Irving hasn't played in a week and nobody knows why. He is away from the team for personal reasons, appeared to have violated COVID protocols and showed up on some political Zoom call but is not injured.

I don't want to trade Harden for another Harden.

We are not trading for Kyrie. Nobody is.

Bull on 790 this morning explaining how NBA tracking cameras measure every movement by players for analysis and so far this season, Harden has been the slowest and traveled the least amount of distance (feet per min played) during his playtime in all the NBA.

It is awesome that we can use analytics to get evidence of players choosing not to play hard. This seems pretty clear to me.

Sit James and let the offers come in. If there is an acceptable offer take it and if not let James sit. James won't win a championship so his legacy will be defined by stats. Hopefully we sit him and there is a big hole in his career stats that everyone will associate with him being a quitter.

Stone has one chance to get this right so he had better hold out for a deal that allows us to reload with talent and picks.

The other aspect to this is salvaging this season. Wall has looked healthy and Cousins has looked decent enough so we need to capitalize on that. I'm not saying we'll make a title run with whoever we get in a trade, but we can at least be competitive for the playoffs.

Must be nice to make a lot of money and completely become disinterested when you don't get your way.

You're not going to win a championship with a team built around Cousins & Wall, and if and when young players and draft picks (hopefully) give you enough of a nucleus to compete, both of those guys will be winding down their careers.

IMO the best move would be to let both of those guys play 35 min. a night for a while and let Wall show that he's still an All-Star and let Cousins (hopefully) show he's still a plus NBA starting big...until a contender makes you an offer you can't refuse.

I think this is the plan. Stockpile picks, assets, and a young cornerstone to build around, and for this season, let Wall ball out so you can move him for more assets.

That sounds great.

Can't get rid of Harden soon enough. Truly hope they can work out a good (non-Kyrie) deal with BKN - I think that would end in a massive implosion.

After watching most of the Laker games this season I agree with the posts above. I don't see us adding the pieces to be a championship contender. Don't set yourself up for mediocrity. Go all in on young players and draft assets, continue to let guys audition for other teams. It sucks, but we are where we are at this point unless Stone pulls a rabbit out of his a**

What Harden said is not necessarily a lie. You just don't make those thoughts public.

and then there's this....

Texaggie7nine

Silas just said Harden was not at team practice today, as they felt it was not best for the team.

Pretty sure we don't see him in a Rocket uniform again.

The Rockets are sifting through finalists Nets and 76ers for a James Harden deal that could culminate quickly, with Brooklyn preparing an offer of all its future first-round picks and pick swaps, per sources.

Definitely want the deal when we get all of Brooklyn's draft picks from now on.

I know it sucks to have your superstar MVP want out but I still think this Nets offer is awesome. I think it allows Houston to still compete in the short term while also building for the long term.

Based on rumors, the 4 players involved in this trade would be:
Lavert
Dinwiddie
Allen
Prince

On top of 4 first round picks and pick swaps.

Like, that's an insane haul. If I'm houston, i take that deal without thinking twice. A starting 5 of:
  • Wall
  • Lavert
  • Dinwiddie (when he gets healthy obviously)
  • Wood
  • Allen

Is a legit playoff contending 5. And I'm pretty bearish on how viable a Nets run of 3 - 30yrd old max players in KD, Kyrie (crazy), Harden (asshat) will be. There's a greater than likely chance that the nets are a lottery team in 2 or 3 years.

Basically, this deal has the potential to be akin to the Celtics one and lay the foundation for a dynasty. I'd do it.

We probably won't win **** immediately with this team...
but they would be better than watchable. A 4-5 seed that could make some ripples.

If Harden ends up with the Nets, that team is going to implode from the egos in that lockerroom. And if he goes to the 76ers, they'll get bounced at the first sign of adversity in the playoffs.

I wish him abject failure wherever he goes

IDGAF about Simmons, Maxey is the real intriguing piece in that deal.

I still like the Nets offer more, but I feel like Stone is using both to pillage as much as he can out of this deal from whoever ends up pulling the trigger.

You can only trade picks/swaps for a certain number of years out. Maybe 6-7
