One of the more painful sports what-ifs I've encountered.
I wish Westbrook was smart enough to realize he sucks at shooting 3s. Or I wish the Rockets leadership had the assertiveness to make him stop shooting them.

That said, he's obviously an amazing offensive player. But I have to ask, do you like that he was 8-27 tonight? And 3-17 from three? What the **** is that?!?
Is just getting the points enough? Do you really like your best player just throwing up shot after shot and volume shooting to good numbers?

He shoots 34% from 3 (BETTER THAN SAVIOR LUKA). This equates to 51% from 2. It's an efficiency thing. Some nights he's 11/18 and the only reason we win. Some nights he needs other guys to pick him up some.

I was with you until "is it bad for the league?".
How is James ruining the league? Because he takes too many 3s? Because he knows how to get people to foul him? Steph Curry and MJ already utilized similar strategies, but they didn't ruin the league.
If you are curious about how it impacts our fan experience, then you are asking a reasonable question; however, to act like James is damaging the league is just silly. The rules made James, not the other way around.
If you are worried about someone ruining the league you should look at Leonard and LeBron James whose free agent activities threaten to undermine the true NBA fan experience.

To me, Harden is a must watch. He has off nights from an efficiency standpoint, but guess what? So does every superstar in the league. He has become a better defender, and any given night he can go off for 50 or 60. He has been in the running for MVP for several seasons in a row now, and constantly turns into a human highlight reel. Harden is great for the City of Houston, he's great for the franchise, he's great for Rockets fans, and I am starting to think he is great for providing tears from his detractors/haters.

As for is James ruining the league...gtfo with that. Dude won't be great every night but when he is cooking there isn't a better player to watch in the NBA. That's why we are on national TV quite a bit. Every other player in the league has off nights but the difference is James won't stop shooting. And he probably shouldn't.
Just enjoy the ride, James won't be in his prime forever.

If the game had been tied at the time, would this still be the case? Or is it just because the Rockets were up a bunch at the time? How much time left would be "insufficient"? This brings in a whole extra layer of gray that the NBA doesn't need.

So why have replay at all? A missed 2 or 3 pointer call shouldn't be overturned in the first quarter because there's ample time to make up for it according to that logic.
