People said Jimbo would never come to A&M
He is best friends with CP3...

Why will he always play in the east?
I'm not saying he won't go to Philly but that won't make them for sure even the favorites in east next year. Him being on Rockets would put us arguably over GS.
Lots of overlap on what him and Simmons do well, and Philly is so young. Rockets make just as much sense as anyone, just would have to make the money work.

It is way easier for him to get to the finals through the east.

It is way easier for him to get SWEPT in the Finals through the East. If he wants to win, he needs to go to the best team/ style, regardless of conference affiliation.

He could go to the Sixers...it would be a cake walk to the finals and he wouldn't get swept
And even if he went to the Rockets he still doesn't beat GS

This last one. I am very skeptical CP3 is in Houston next year. Say him and LeBron go somewhere they can build a team around themselves, it's very appealing to both. CP3 has now done everything but go to an NBA final and win an NBA final. Moving to the East with LeBron makes that very probable, whereas he'll have to go through the Warriors again in the West.UMichAg said:
LeBron has admitted that he is consumed by chasing the "ghost in Chicago." He is going to go where he can win a couple more championships. I think that leaves him 3 options:
Philly
Houston
Going with CP3 to a team that is already decent

You can't escape the Warriors, no, but you can delay seeing them until and NBA finals and add "NBA Finals" to your resume. Not saying it won't happen that LeBron comes to Houston, but there's a lot that has to happen in Houston to make this possible from a financial perspective. It's a lot easier if Paul walks and joins LeBron somewhere in the east, which is my thought.rvk246 said:Texan_Aggie said:This last one. I am very skeptical CP3 is in Houston next year. You have to go through the Warriors one way or another and Marc Stein reported that CP3 is recruiting him to Houston specifically.

I don't see Paul walking. His best chance to win a championship, short of joining the Warriors, is to stay in Houston and that's regardless of whether LeBron comes here or not.
The best chance for LeBron coming here is if Chris Paul takes a pay cut to get him here.

Not sure how everyone else feels here, but I would skip on matching a Capela offer if it meant getting LeBron. Would do it 11 out of 10 times.M.C. Swag said:Head Ninja In Charge said:

Even that's not enough. Capela will have to walk too. Houston can't pay Lebron, CP3, Harden, Ryen Anderson, and Capela

I think we'd have to trade one of Ariza/Gordon/Tucker to make the money work. Or might have to pair one of those with Anderson in order for someone to take Anderson.
