I knew it would take one loss for the Houston fans to start *****ing about the refs, and blaming them for the loss.

Go look at their thread. They were *****ing about them in game 1

From the rockets thread, predictably.

Well I've slept on it and I'm still pissed at the officiating.

Harden only got two phantom fouls shooting a 3. Clearly, they had it out for the rockets.

Harden really does play like a little b*&#% doesn't he?!?!

I'm not a huge b-ball fan so maybe I'm just ignorant... but he takes that bush league crap (that everybody does occasionally) and does it the entire friggin game over and over and over.

How do you go 3-17 from the field??? When you are taking ass clown shots looking for a foul instead of actually trying to make a basket!

you go 3-17 because for the most part the spurs refused to reach in and bail him out

Parker's scoring is going to be missed. I don't think Murray would be the right replacement for this series. The spurs are getting open outside looks. And Murray's jump shot isn't exactly developed. I honestly think Forbes' shooting would be more helpful to the Spurs. I'm not saying he should handle the ball, but I think he'd be a good option at the 2, giving more minutes to Mills, Manu and Kawhi with the ball.
I'm with you.

But to real key stat to me this whole series will be Spurs turnovers. We had almost no t/o at all well into the game and that kept Houston from getting transition 3's. We do that 3 more games before having 3 more turnover-fest, we win the series.

I don't trust Murray's handles and decision making yet.

I think you try giving Murray a little more run, but you go into it knowing that he's probably not ready for playoff games against a team where you can't afford to turn it over and need to be highly efficient offensively. I think he'll get earlier opportunities, but that there will be a quick hook as soon as he starts struggling.

I'll wait for the official announcement after the MRI, but it'll be tough to win this series without Parker, especially as well as he's been playing in the playoffs for the most part. Kawhi is playing at such a high level though that they still have a decent chance to beat the Rockets, but I think whatever shot they might have had against the Warriors probably ended last night. It's a shame.

From reddit and NOT confirmed. Grain of salt, etc.

Quote:

Ok, guys, I can't really say how I found out, but I know people associated with the team and it's apparent that Parker tore his quad muscle. This would make it career ending unfortunately. Y'all might not believe me, but I trust my source pretty heavily, and I figured y'all would want to know. Feel free to ask questions.

Edit #1: not that a quad rupture is any more significant than a ligament tear, but it all just depends on what/where it tore. Again, either injury probably would have been a career ender

Edit #2: I meant to say quad tendon and not quad muscle. Apologies. If it is a quad tendon rupture, and not quad muscle, then it truly is extremely severe.

I was thinking something along those lines from the way he was grabbing above his knee cap

This wouldn't surprise me. Any time it's non-contact like that you have to assume something just ruptured.

I wondered if that was it based on where he was holding his leg. Well... someone is going to have to step up to be the second fiddle to Kawhi.

I could see Patty stepping up big in this series and maybe getting us past the Rockets.

But the Warriors / Cavs? No way in hell we go through one, much less both of them, without TP.

This one hurts.

No, no, no....

You just don't "understand"...Patty had his hands in the cookie jar...except that cookie jar was on the top shelf...

A LMA clearly karate chopped Harden on a routine block out. Should have been ejected...

I have nothing to add except that I hope it wasn't the last time we see TP play basketball. He was having a phenomenal (for him this year) playoffs after everyone had written him off.

Right. I think Murray would be easily baited into playing out-of-control, fast-paced ball. He just doesn't have the ability to settle an offense right now.

Watch Pop on the sidelines when the Rockets have the ball. Anytime Harden has the ball outside the 3 pt line Pop is standing there with his hands raised above his head. He has probably preached it so much that the team hear sit in their sleep.

Keep it in KL klaws and use him more of a spot up shooter or to bail out on a trap.

If anyone cares, if Parker decides to retire, it won't help the Spurs salary cap next year at all.

Wouldnt it be better if he didnt retire? Spurs can petition for an injury exception, I think.

Woj has a story up now repeating his tweet about season ending surgery.

Can't get an injury exception until 1yr after the last game. His contact will be over then.

He's due 15mm. If he retires and it isn't medical and both parties cancel the last 15mm, they could get the money back.

I think there is a way to get it stretched out over 5 years of he retires, but I'm not sure.

I am with my daughter at rehab (knee) and the therapist said a "quad tendon" injury is really bad and very difficult to come back from. Not impossible but VERY VERY difficult.

It is comical. They are so used to Harden getting every call that it is a travesty to them when the calls are even.

Yep. What I found:
Quote:

Boublik et al found in their studies that only 50 percent of the athletes with this injury returned to play.

I don't know much about A&P so I had to look it up. The quad tendon is what connects your quad (giant muscle on top of your thigh) to your knee cap. The patellar tendon is ruptured more often and that is what connects your knee cap to your shin (tibia). Most people rupture the patellar tendon, not the quad tendon.
