In comparing rosters, there is at least 4 guys on the Grizzlies roster, 3 of which play major minutes (including both point guards), that Pop or any other team could have taken this year or last, but said, "Nope, we're good."
JaMychal Green (waived by Spurs)
Bryce Cotton
Jordan Farmar
Xavier Munford
(Could add Ray McCullum, who was also cut by Spurs, but isn't on playoff roster).
From the bench, the only guys that could make any of the top 4 WC teams is Lance Stephenson and a healthy Tony Allen, although JaMychal Green is probably there now, but I'm not sure starter Birdman could, and the previously mentioned starting Farmar didn't.
When all these injuries started on 2/9, and the Grizzlies were still sitting in 5th over a month later, I knew that teams 5-8 were going to get absolutely destroyed in the first round.
