Kobe is one of the all-time greats for sure, but I just can't put him above Magic. 12 years, 8 finals appearances, five rings and the rivalry with Bird that elevated the NBA to the level of consciousness where a Jordan could take it to the next level in the public view. And he made the game a fun, happy thing to watch. Kobe is one of the best 10 or so to ever play but Magic transcended the sport.

Also, 80s and 90s basketball was much more physical and superstars didn't get every call when driving the lane. Kobe played in some of it but the gsme changed in the 2000s to a much less physical game when driving. I think Kobe is top 15 tho and I'm glad to have watched him play the game

All time great, Lakers legend. What could've been if he and Shaq could've made it work out. Definitely six, maybe seven or eight rings. Lots of great memories. It was a privilege to watch Kobe play in Staples Center.

Whether you put any stock into it or not, people have analyzed quality of play league-wide as time has gone on and it's actually become more talented/harder to play as time goes on, even past the hailed 80s/90s.

i agree the talent level has gotten better but I am saying the physicality of driving the lane. I remember watching 90s ball where you would get laid out for driving and no whistle would come. Also, big men dominated and didn't give a **** to lay your ass out. But again, talent wise league wide has gotten better

None of the big names in free agency wanted to play with him in the last few years. Pretty telling if you ask me.

If you actually want to know what i think...Kobe doesn't sniff Jordan. Kobe is top 5. I can only tie him with Magic at best. He's better than Duncan, although due to duncan having an amazing coach and amazing cast and organization for his career, Duncan can and likely has the better career. But kobe is still better.

Some of you guys should really stop the haterade for one game. This is the worst Laker team of all-time and nobody really gives a crap about anything except watching him play one last time.

While you're throwing out the ****ty 3-pt numbers, he has been shooting above 50% from 2 practically the entire game and they are actually still in the game. Not going to win but at least competitive.
