I'm still curious to see what happens with Terry. He says he wants to play two more years somewhere. Shot was broke all last year but he could still be a good locker room guy for the right team.
quote:
Ty Lawson thinks people are overlooking him in FA because of his drinking. Somebody should inform him that people are avoiding him because he was TERRIBLE last year. He needs to STFU.
quote:
Didn't know he had a drinking issue, but that's a pretty damn valid reason for not giving somebody a multi million dollar contract.
quote:
dude had a PER of 9 something last season; he was miserable.

He had like three DWIs in a year

PER is useless

Only if you think the great measures of a player are ppg, RPG and apg

Ty played scared his entire time in a Rockets uniform. It was infuriating every single game.

Don't fall into trap of thinking every thing of value a player does for team or a game shows up in box score. Especially on defensive end

It was one of the largest year to year drop offs that I have ever seen. Dude averaged almost 10 assists with a terrible Denver team in 14-15.

So... What is it not in the box score that Ty Lawson was of so much value doing last season?
quote:
Good point of reference and that is higher than Lawson's last year. PER is adjusted so that the league average is 15.
While it is not a end all be all stat and Hollinger (its inventor) admits as such, it is a very good way to compare how players contributed while on the court. Generally, rotational players are 13+. Below 11 is very bad. 27+ = MVP candidate.

Green sucked last year.
quote:
Danny Green had a PER of 10.49 in 15-16 is a good example.
Enes Kanter was 11th in the league in PER and he is unplayable in games when not paired with very active defensive 2nd big.
