$19-20 million is insane for Bazemore, but if he helps with Horford and brings some defense, that'd be a step in the right direction. Oh wait, we hired D'Antoni, we're not gonna play defense.

He does have a 6'11" wing span and every site I see says he does a good job hanging with the star SFs. No idea if it's true, but good God 20 million for a 12/5 guy? I should've worked on my dribbling more.

I watched the ESPN guys talk about the contracts dudes are getting. They were basically laughing at Mosgov getting 16 a year and Bazmore wanting 18-20. The salary caps are going way up each of the next two years. I'd take Horford and then give Batum a max before I took Bazmore.

He's shorter than Harden unless he has lifts in his shoes. He does have a nice wingspan, but he is still smaller than Harden. In any event, he doesn't play a top need position. PG and PF.

You realize there are respected basketball websites that list what they actually measure out at, right? I'm not just saying I saw them near each other and Harden was definitely half an inch taller.

If you can't figure out how to find a website that lists NBA players measureablesp, I'm not going to hold your little hand and do it for you. But I can assure you it is out there and has been linked on this board many times. You can see their actual wingspan, height w/ & w/o shoes, no step vert, one step vert, etc. Pretty great stuff.

Look at that 1/4 inch shorter, but 1 inch longer wingspan. I'd say they're the same rounded off height

I don't care what the damn market looks like right now, you don't give bazemore that much f'in money.

It's like panicking during goodnight irene when all the pretty girls are taken and settling for the whale with a cute face. Sure it might feel good for the moment, but come morning time reality begins to set in. You are left with no self respect and any pretty girl who saw you dry hump that beast will never give you two thoughts again....

I think a lot of teams are banking on the fact that the cap goes up significantly again next year and these won't feel quite so bad. I think a Max deal next year starts at around $40mm/year.

But still a 12/5 player that is 27 getting 20mm/year? That's insanity.

I agree, I think there's a risk-reward attached to a lot of these deals. You don't throw max level money at guys who would be coming off the bench for most teams.
