These asshats just won't learn their lesson. The reason McHale failed is because he wasn't a good XO coach and they had to bring in good assistants to organize his defense. Who the hell do you think JB Bickerstaff is? A good XO assistant to help prop up a flawed head coach.

What we will end up getting is a staff that fails to hold its players accountable because the head man doesnt have a clear all encompassing vision.

Oh come on. "Couldn't even reach the finals"? That's an unfair standard. The NBA was really tough a decade ago.

Once we sign KD, Ryan Anderson, & Barnes to go along with Harden and Bev, we will be putting up 120 a night.

People are going to make fun of the hiring, but I've always said coaching the Lakers or Knicks is a no win situation. He did both subsequently. Cut him some slack.

Games will be fun to watch. Unless he coaches them like he coached the Lakers. Or the Knicks.

How does this work as a theory?

They know James can't/won't play defense and they know they're losing Dwight as a defensive presence. Completely scrap the defense and get the best offensive coach to help you outscore folks.

If they feel like even a good defensive minded coach can't get these guys to play sufficient defense why not just outscore teams?

We have to make getting a few shooters a priority if indeed it does end up being Dantoni.

With the talent he had its very fair. I can't believe anyone thinks this is remotely a good hire. The can't field a defense to save his ****ing life. His offense is predicated around 3 point shooting and a hall of fame PG none of which Houston has. He Sucked ass in new York and LA. Those teams showed no improvement regardless of it being a "no win situation" there's a reason people refer to him as Mike 'Antoni because he has no idea what "D" is. Jesus what a miserable mistake this would be, I guess morey found his "yes man"

If it's D'Antoni... We absolutely have to go out and get some shooters. If we have no chance to get a guy like Horford, I honestly wouldn't mind if Dwight came back.

Horford can shoot the 3 now. Anderson is a plus 3 point shooter. Those 2 will make a big difference.

The other 8 seasons (full and partial,) his record was 223-330 (40% or about a 33-49 average season.)
