Parson's to miss the start of camp recovering from a hybrid microfracture surgery... Not good news.

Cuban should have gone with the full team tank plan when he only had 4 people on the roster. This was the perfect year to do it. Let Parsons and Mathews get healthy. Add a top 5 pick to build around. Take another swing at free agency with the cap spiking next year.

Instead there is enough talent to win 35-45 games and miss the playoffs by 1-5 games. Now the Mavs will ship the ~10th pick to Boston and have nothing to build on going into 2016. This roster just doesn't make sense to me. Even if everyone were magically healthy they are an 8 seed and non-championship contender again at best.

So they signed Javale McGee intending to NOT tank?

Microfracture is never good.

It's not, although none of this is news. Even theough they didn't broadcast the details, it was clear back in May that it had been microfracture and, at a minimum, the early part of 2015 was at risk (along with every other risk that a microfracture treated injury brings).
