Why is Scott included with Dream and Ewing?

This one may fit better.

Wes Matthews signing is official. If he can get healthy and not rush back, I like him as a big piece moving forward

So he stayed with them after Dre left, so they gave him more money than they agreed to?

If true, maybe they're locking money up so they will definitely tank this season and not be enticed into more contracts by having green on the table?

That Matthews contract is the equivalent of a slump buster. Just to bang out a max contract FA to break the dam, apparently.

I'd rather have Zaza over DJ anyway

Not even going to bother reading about it until it does or doesn't happen.

That would be a perfect Mavs move. Bring in just enough players to be about 38-44 during reg season and give the 1st round draft pick to Boston again.

Outside of Pavel Podkolzin, Zaza was my favorite under-the-radar center to play with in NBA Live.

Pavel Podkolzin doesn't even use Pavel Podkolzin to play with in NBA Live.

You'd be surprised. When you put the difficulty on Rookie and throw the ball in to him on the block every damn possession, the dude puts up stats that rival Hakeem in his prime

Not sure if this has been posted.

quote:
Dear Mavs fans,
After all the nonsense coming from an ESPN employee on twitter, I thought I would provide the events of the day on Tuesday.
Through all of Monday we were texting back and forth discussing players available, the amount of cap room we had left. Who our staff liked. Who he liked. How excited he was.
Then on Tuesday the communications basically stopped and we started hearing rumblings from multiple people that something was up.
So I flew down to Houston and got a room at the galleria, which is just a few minutes from his house. I had my driver take me to his house. It's inside a small gated community but the gate was wide open. So we drove in and I literally walked up to his door.
There was no one home. So I texted him saying that I was there. I know something is up. Let's talk. He texted me that he was on a date.
I told him to have fun. I wasn't in a rush, that I was happy to come by there and say hi or if he wanted to make the date fun, take them to Dallas for a night out.
He didn't respond.
After about 10 minutes I went back to the hotel. I wasn't going to sit in front of his house. I didn't think that was right.
When I got back to the hotel I texted him that I wasn't in front of his house. Have fun on his date and we will talk.
He hit me back immediately saying thanks.
He knew I was in town. He know I was close by. I knew something was up. I was getting the same reports everyone else was.
I also knew his agents were coming to town. It made sense that he would talk to them and worst cast, even if he was having second thoughts the agent would be able to give me updates.
Like any big career move it's natural to have second thoughts. So while I was concerned, I still wasn't worried. So I went to bed.
More to come.
And for those who care. I like this medium because it's like having a face to face conversation. I can say what I want. No trolls. I can reach any size audience. And respond to people easily.
I will also reblast this to +blogmaverick

If I was uber rich, taking a jet to Dallas for a night on the town would never cross my mind. Dallas? Why would you want to go there if you were already in Houston?

Really no excuse for how DeAndre handled this. Incredibly immature at best.

I don't understand the other moves though. I get the sense of loyalty to Dirk and trying to at least give him a chance, but ultimately they have to do what's best for the franchise long term. They've been fighting rebuilding for so long, but I really thought they'd give in this time. Guess not.

Maybe because you don't speak Spanish or Vietnamese.

Do not want Deron. If we get him, it better be a one year deal.

Signing Deron

That said, in spite of the blow it up talk, I'm thinking Cuban is committed to pulling what he can together for Dirk. It won't work, but you do it for another year or so until he's really done, then he blows it up.

If that Mavs wanted to keep that pick then they have plenty of avenues to do so considering the injuries and unused cap space. This is basically the perfect year for it. In theory the Mavs could add a top 5 pick to a healthy Parsons/Mathews plus use their cap space for 2016-17. But if the Mavs end up with Williams on the roster then its clear they are refusing to tank.

I'm only OK with the Mavs willingly losing the 8th-10th pick in the draft if it means Carlisle is going to sign an extension. He is a top 5 coach and is worth losing a draft pick in the 8-10 range for. He won't tolerate trotting out Justin Anderson and Dwight Powell for extended minutes while losing 55 games next year. But while the culture and coach are important it still doesn't fix the fundamental problem that there is no 5 year strategy involved.
