The Western Conference next year is going to be as deep as anytime I can ever remember. Those 7 teams listed above are all going to be very good.
LAC is going to be real interesting to see if Rivers can get them out of the 2nd round. He could be the missing piece.
GS did a great job with their FA signing.
OKC was the 1 seed last year and they pretty much return everyone again after Westbrook gets healthy.
SA has imo the best coach in the NBA and he just gets them to win no matter how old they get.
Memphis is a solid team.
Not sure about Denver with the loss of George Karl even though he couldn't get them out of the 2nd round.
And then of course Houston which is what this 42 page thread is about.

Denver is the obvious one to fall out after losing Karl and Iggy. But yea, the rest of the top 6 are tough as F.

Simplebay the amount of posting you do on this thread makes me wonder if you're just a Rockets fan deep down inside. You're more than welcome to join the bandwagon since you joined one already! Heck we'll make you the leader of the bandwagon and you can drive everyone down to the tine!
Meanwhile in the East, 5 teams have already submitted their paperwork for the playoffs, and 10 teams are doing what they can to make the lottery.
It truly is remarkable to sit back and realize how dominant as a conference the West has been over the east for nearly 25 years you can't really say the same about any other league except maybe when the NFL that won somewhere around like 17 straight super Bowls from the 80s all the way through the end of the 90s
OKC lost their 3rd leading scorer and only real threat off the bench. Wouldn't say they're returning everyone. When is Westbrook supposed to return? Or will he miss the season like Rose did?

He had a meniscus tear which is nothing. I played my entire senior year with one and I know many folks who have played with one as well. It's very minor

The West has won 10 of the last 15 thanks to the Lakers and Spurs, and over that period about 6 of the 8 best teams every year are in the West.
Denver and Memphis are both bringing in new coaches. Denver lost Iggy as well. Those two teams are going to have some rough patches.

This year could be another year like 2010 when all eight of the WC playoff teams won at least 50 games, but none won 60...I think 7 games separated first from eighth.
I don't think that exact scenario will happen again, but I don't see one team getting a lot of separation from the rest.
2008 also had 8 teams with 50 wins in the west and the warriors missed the playoffs with 48 wins. I definitely remember that season well, for obvious reasons being a rockets fan and the 22 game win streak

funny that people never think that kobe is a team destroyer (even though he's been 100000x worse as a teammate than dwight could ever be. Howard truly blows my mind. If his whole issue is wanting to be "the man" on your team, then STAY ON THE TEAM WHERE YOU WERE THE MAN. Simplebay is right (as much as I hate to say that). The Rocket's are Harden's team, so prepare for mega Dwight Butthurt.

I absolutely think Kobe is bad for chemistry. Who is saying he isn't? Just b/c Howard can't handle "not having the torch passed to him" doesn't mean Kobe caused this. Dwight was "the man" in Orlando, wasn't the man in LA, and won't be the man in Houston. So he's either in for a rude awakening or he needs to suck it up.
