I LOVE how BADLY the Lakers want dwight that they'll also give him his own TV show. They're a pathetic management group

Not to be outdone, the Rockets are reportedly offering Howard the same deal, thanks to their ownership stake in CSN Houston.

@BrettNBA: Dwight has narrowed his choice down between the Lakers, Rockets and Warriors.

Berger is saying they want to move the contracts regardless. Bogut will be the easiest to move by far. I would just hold onto the expiring deals and use the cap space next year, but that's just me. I wouldn't want to give up the assets it would take to move the others.

As a Lakers fan, of course I want Dwight back. If he leaves, we'll just have to fall back on Kobe, Pau, and Nash, as well as tons of cap space next year.

damn.

With Kobe out with a heel and we swing and miss on Dwightmare, I amnesty Gasol and hope for a 2014 1st pick to rebuild around.

Amnesty Metta, trade Gasol. Someone will want him by the trade deadline. Probably won't bring a big bounty back, but it'll help.

I still want Nash to get a ring, so I wouldn't mind Howard staying in LA. Worst case scenario as a Dallas fan would probably be him going to Houston, though I think that GS lineup would be pretty salty for years to come.

But if I'm being honest, if Dallas can't land Howard, then worrying about a game GS team is about the least of my problems. Dallas won't be competing for anything anytime soon unless Dirk takes a season off and Dallas somehow "Duncans" into Andrew Wiggins or something in the 2014 draft. Not optimistic to say the least.

no im talking about if you are another team not named the mavs. Don't make the mistake the knicks made for carmelo when you can get the guy for free months later

Painfully true. I'm not sure they'd trade Dirk, though. They won't get anything for him of value, and they've already shed contacts to try and get Lebron/CP3/Williams/Howard/whoever.

As a fan, I don't want to see Dirk languishing on a bad team, but I don't think Dallas could challenge for anything much more than the 8th seed unless they can make a trade for a REAL PG. Even then, they won't be getting past SA, Houston (with D12), OKC, LAC, etc.

Dallas needs to trade for talent since master negotiator Cuban can't seem to close a deal these days. He may be the smartest guy in the room as he thinks, but the players don't care about the realities of a soft cap.

Mark Hesler seems confident Golden State will have room and will eventually land Dwight Howard. Say they are matching up expiring contracts with first round picks and that there is little doubt that they will have room. Thinks if they have room he will pick Golden State.

If they can keep their roster in tact and shed those contracts, they would make a ton of sense. The problem is, no one but GS thinks they can shed those and keep Barnes and Thompson. And if you trade the picks, the roster would be locked unless they can deal Lee too.
