I don't think Bayless ever touched the ball anyway.

boy should would have been nice to have another superstar to pick up the slack where your supposed "leader" doesn't do jack **** in OT.

Thunder is done. Grizz will be a tough out in the WCF, should the Spurs make it there. Congrats to Grizz fans.

and the Thunder wastes Ibaka's best game of the playoffs.

nice win for you Memphis boys

I think Thunder playing Durant defending the post (small ball) is taking a toll on Durant in the 4th quarter, especially with the extra minutes.

I think that the Thunder took their biggest lead with Collison and Ibaka on the floor, but I may wrong.

Iowa, you may be right. They got the lead to double digits with Thabeet out there then extended it to 17 (with Durant out)

I think Hollins was trying to but some minutes of rest for guys at the end of that 1st Q where the lead got to double digits. At one point he had a lineup of Allen, Prince, Arthur, Dooling and Gasol out there which is not a lineup built for offensive success.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall at halftime to hear what Hollins says to these guys because they've done pretty well all year in the 3rd Q.

In the postseason Memphis has only lost one 3rd quarter. That was game 2 against OKC where Memphis won the 4th quarter by 11 points.

Agreed. His shooting has dropped off dramatically in the 4th, and I don't believe it has anything to do w/ "clutchness" as we've seen him make plenty of clutch shots throughout his career.

Without Westbrook he's simply being asked to do too much. Hopefully this will be a growing experience for him similar to what Lebron experienced in Cleveland.

Hopefully not in the "leaving OKC" way that Lebron "learned."

The 3rd quarter has been OKC's nemesis all playoffs.

Pahdz,

Are these two statements of yours related?

I like Scott Brooks, .... and I know he's Russell-less right now, but he sucks.

In watching the game last night I thought, "I don't think Thabo, nor Perkins have improved one bit since the 2011 series."
Do you think I'm wrong?

Maybe that's wrong, but I'm not sure the Thunder organization has done a great job of developing their role players (although Ibaka, Westbrook and KD actually have). I don't think Memphis has done that either, at least not like the Spurs.

Knowing how close all these games have been, this certainly isn't over. If OKC wins game 5, there is a lot of pressure on the Grizzlies to win game 6. Hope it doesn't get to that.

There were 3 players (Westbrook, Ibaka, and Harden) on last years OKC team better than anyone LeBron played with in Cleveland for 7 years. I highly doubt Durant leaves. OKC has proven they're willing to surround Durant with good players, and they have an eye for talent. They're really well run.

Pretty good one by Hollins:

Hollins told star forward Zach Randolph, who is not known for his defense, that Randolph had made honorable mention on the NBA's all-defense team.

“I did?” Randolph enthusiastically responded, according to Hollins.

No, the coach said, “I'm just kidding.”

Perkins is obviously on the down side of his career, I wouldn't have expected him to improve. Thabo reached his ceiling pretty quick, although if you go by stats I believe his outside shooting has greatly improved since them (he used to get sagged off a bunch).

There hasn't been much to develop in terms of role players. Many of the guys were about as developed as they could be. I have little hope for that Baylor waste Perry Jones, but we'll have to keep an eye on Lamb to see how he does. Early returns on Jackson when getting extended minutes look to be good, but he's a lot like a young Russell, a little careless, and lets TO's get to him.

Jackson has a nice game. Like you said, a little wild and careless at times but is very fast to the basket and can shoot.

I guess I never realized just how fast he is. I'm honestly kinda excited to see him in an expanded role, and what better mentor than Westbrook who has a similar game. Jackson's pull up move is that little one handed floater in lieu of Westbrook's pull up J at the elbow.
Iowaggie
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I wonder if you will start seeing Jackson in there with Westbrook in the future, allowing Westbrook to move to the Harden type role when Jackson is out there.

Series is far from over, not with Thunder potentially hosting 2 more games, and all the games have been very close. I expect a game 6.

Contemplating going to OKC tonight. What do you think Iowa?
Iowaggie
How long do you want to ignore this user?
You should go.
You will either enjoy a great series win or a great performance by Kevin Durant. Or both.

In all the playoff games I have been to, the only fans who have been treated poorly are the ones who find it necessary to be obnoxious.

I've seen write a few Durant and okc fans at the post game parties on Beale or in front of the Forum. They have all been having good times.

You oughta go. If you don't act like a jackhole you'll be treated well. We had some fun with some Memphis fans at game 2.

Something I've noticed across the NBA, and mostly with the Thunder. I hate late in games, how everything turns into iso play. Look how well the Thunder were passing and getting everyone involved in the 2nd quarter the other night. Would it just shock the hell out of another team if you started doing that stuff close and late?

I am not a complete idiot when it comes to rooting for my team. I was planning to go to a possible game 7 in OKC, but I am probably working that day anyways. Only 2.5 hours away so it isn't too bad, just have an exam tomorrow at 9.

So far the refs are letting a lot of contact go. Fisher just body checked Conley to the ground before that long pass to Martin. Prince was mugged earlier at the basket. Grizz have gotten away with some physical play underneath the OKC basket.
