They just showed this on the Mavs telecast - the most minutes played by young guys per team:

Wizards - 4769
T'Wolves - 3456
Knicks - 2907
Pistons - 2773
Spurs - 2732
Jazz - 2687

They went on to talk about how amazing it is that the Spurs are on that list and being as successful as they are.

Rough calculations. Teams have about 8640 minutes played at this point in season.

I kinda think that the T'Wolves are this year's young team that could take a big step from the previous season and be a pain in the playoffs if they can get there. And some of those teams never took a big step the next year. Not sure why all didn't build on it.

10-11 Grizzlies (#8 seed to beat the #1 Spurs; sub .500 previous year)

09-10 Thunder(#8 seed that took Lakers to 6 games; took big step the next year; 23 wins the previous season).

08-09 Bulls (#7 seed that took Boston to 7 games; sub .500 the year before).

07-08 Hawks (#8 seed that took Boston to 7 games; sub .500 the year before)

06-07 GSW (#8 seed that beat #1 Mavs; sub .500 the year before)

Any other year, I would dismiss the Wolves as a mirage. But stealing Adelman may be their most important move. The fact that a young team like that has a top 6-7 coach in the league is very promising.

See the Indiana Pacers, who are this year's Memphis Grizzlies after sneaking into the playoffs 8 games under .500
