Those fouls on Kidd were horrendous.

Kidd has 4 fouls and world peace has 1. Makes sense.

Moving pick! Good grief

The mavs d is terrible on pick and rolls. They go so far under the screen, even the Lakers can burn them. The worst 3pt shooting team in the league

Sessions is good. The Mavs pgs cant destroy Fisher anymore.

Shut up, front runner. Shouldn't you be getting ready for the Yankees opening day?

Shut up *******.

Mavs, just like last year, aren't going to go back to back unless Dirk dominates the playoffs again.

This team is built to play well and hang close, and have Dirk be the difference.
Simplebay

Carter gets a very fortunate foul call there

might as well call it both ways guys.

a tech on that

ball off dirk's leg

man oh man. lotta fortunate calls. turrrbie. refs trying to give this game to the mavs

Just as I called it - Mavs missing their best 3 defenders have no chance against the motivated lakers. Especially need Haywood on Bynum and Marion on Kobe. smh at Roddy still clueless on pnr defense

You're a dumb ****. The only reason the ball went off dirks leg is because he was slapped across his arm during a shot.
Simplebay

6mins left, Lakers up 12. Just like last night against the Rockets.

the mavs will close this. the lakers are running out of gas, back 2 backs.

Refs are horrible both ways. What else would anybody expect with Joey Crawford though.

I wish the Mavs would have missed just a few of these wide open shots against the Spurs the other night (when I was sitting in row F and not posting on Texags)..

Hard to remind myself we don't have marion or haywood for this game. I still feel like we should be able to win, but that is 2 starters gone...and Delonte West, who its hard to even remember is on this team.

Just hate missing open shots, and Gasol killed us this game.

The Mavs need Haywood, Marion and West back badly. I think with Haywood they'd be less likely to double Bynum, thus leaving fewer WIDE OPEN SHOTS for the Lakers. And Marion has definitely frustrated Kobe in the prior matchups.

Kobe has now outscored Dirk in 5 of the last 14 matchups. Good for espn to focus on the duel

ESPN had a completely love-fest with Kobe and the Lakers yesterday. I think Simplebay may run their Twitter feed.

Lamar Odom with the quadruple-single: 1 point, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 steal.

Quintuple. He had a turnover as well.

All I know is Kobe has 0 playoff wins against Dirk and had to have much superior teammates to win a ring. Dirk did it with scrubs outside of Chandler.

All I know is that you're going to throw out the comparison of all-time h2h playoff record, yet neglect that kobe played with "superior teammates":

Smush Parker
Luke Walton
Chris Mihm
Jim Jackson
Aaron Mcckie
Slava Medvedenko
Devin Green
Kwame Brown
Devean George
Shammond Williams

all of which got significant playing time. Do you know how many of those people are still in the league?
TheMasterplan
How long do you want to ignore this user?
And kobe couldn't get further than the 1st round with them.

Dirk's best offensive second option has been Josh Howard. Enough said.
Simplebay
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Enough said?? uh, no, not enough said. This cannot be real life. God you Mavs fans are hilarious.

You mean NBA All Star Josh Howard?

did you even read the list I sent you.

What about 6th Man of the Year Jason Terry? Or NBA All Star Devin Harris? or 2x All Star and 6th Man of the Year Antwan Jamison? or 10x All Star, 5x All NBA First team, 4x All NBA Defensive First team Jason Kidd? or, i dunno, a guy that has won more NBA Most Valuable Player Awards than Kobe himself.

Hell I'd take Coach of the Year Avery Johnson over Frank Hamblen and a completely unhealthy Rudy T that Kobe had

Do you even think before you post?

Yeah and when times were tough Kobe whined like a little B and wanted to be traded.

Kobe couldn't do it without a dominant big while Dirk has gotten to the big stage with 2 separate supporting casts (sans Jason Terry).

Simple, I thought you drove an Infiniti, but I just saw you at the stop light:

Simplebay

Kobe's trade demand worked out terribly for him and the Lakers. how dare he.

2 championships, an MVP, and a billion dollars revenue generated later...

oh. right.

next.

Please tell me this guy didn't just compare 38 year old Kidd to early 00's Kidd.

Shaq (most dominant player of all time)
Pau Gasol
Andrew Bynum
Karl Malone (out of prime, sure)
Gary Payton
Phil Jackson
Ron Artest
Motivated Lamar Odom
Younger Derek Fisher

>>>>>>>>>>>>

Nutcase Josh Howard
Out of prime Jason Kidd
Unreliable playoff performer Jason Terry
Erica Dampier
Shawn "big time" Marion
Brendan Haywood
Unreliable Devin Harris
Jerry Steakhouse
Don Nelson
Avery Johnson
etc.

Don Nelson teams are pretty void here...let's be honest. Antwan Jamison+Antoine Walker+Dirk=the most ****ed up combo ever.

And Devin Harris was an all star after he left the Mavs.

Kobe has only won titles as second fiddle or on mega-stacked teams. The benefits of playing in LA.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
interesting rationalization and leaving off of one

have you ever considered these players were never playing well in their prime because dirk wasn't good enough to make them better?
TheMasterplan
How long do you want to ignore this user?
On the contrary, did Nash make Dirk better? Or was he holding him back?

And again, that's a Don Nelson team. Even then the Mavs made the WCF and Dirk got injured. Who knows what would've happened had he stayed healthy or Steve Kerr didn't become godlike in the 4th.

I will disagree a bit with Masterplan even though I'm enjoying your sparring with Simplebay. I think Dirk has had some good teammates, and I wouldn't call Terry, Kidd, Marion from last year scrubs.

But as to Nash, he's really great offensively, but he's a giant sucking vacuum defensively. I love Nashty, but considering we had no good defensive players back then, his defense made him a minus overall. He was also prone to breaking down physically at the end of the year back when we had him.
InternetFan02
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Lol at calling Josh Howard an all-star player. Kobe had an All-NBA caliber teammate for 11of his 14 seasons, and has both Bynum and Gasol this year. Dirk had 2 seasons of Nash when he was just a borderline 3rd teamer and they were playing in a non-contending Nellieball system

IF....its a fact. josh howard was an all star
InternetFan02
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Josh Howard was the 2nd injury replacement in 2007, and only because the Mavs were dominating the regular season so badly that no one could believe they only had one all-star. Even Mo Williams 2009 was selected without being an injury replacement in a similar scenario.
