Good win by the Grizzlies tonight without Gasol and Randolph coming off the bench.

I thought they moved randolph to the bench permenantly?

I think it is a work in progress. I don't think Zach sees it as permanent, but Speights is outplaying him right now.

I think this team still is evolving, but still has only proved it can be either or Rudy Gay team, or a Zach Randolph team. They still haven't shown they can do both.

And if Arenas is able to play at a decent level and hit some 3s....it could get interesting.


As it was tonight, Grizz 0-11 from 3-land, and gave up 9-29 tonight from outside the arc, although about 10 of those were near the end of the game when Minnesota was launching 3s.

Grizzlies aren't playing nearly as good as they were last year. With the stretch of games remaining it would not surprise me if they are matched up. I think the Spurs would win in 7 if they were to play.

Yes, I agree but Memphis could end up from around 3rd-7th seed depending how this stretch plays out. This should make for an interesting April.

Yes, if Randolph can play as well as he did last year in the playoffs, the Finals is not out of reach. I think they are playing as a more complete team this year, but Randolph just is not able to put it together yet. Hopefully he will figure it out in time for the playoffs.

Would easily rather have the lakers play anyone not named SA or OKC in the playoffs. Grizz could take the lakers out in round 1 if OJ Mayo plays even remotely well

There are 2 big wild cards.

Zach Randolph: Last year, if going into a game he wasn't recognized as the best player on the floor, he would play as if he was making a case that he was. Right now on some nights, he's the 3rd best post on the Grizzlies, at best (props to Mo Speights and Dante Cunningham for coming along nicely).


Gilbert Arenas: He sees the court so well, that when Conley is out, and Arenas is in there, especially with OJ Mayo, the 2nd unit could be as good as there is in the league. He is a better defender than I expected. If Agent 10 starts nailing 3s like when he was Agent Zero, it will make be tough to beat the Grizzlies. It also keeps Conley fresh at 30 minutes, instead of at 38 minutes/game.


Still, it is tough to ignore the fact that they need to still beat some top teams.

One win against OKC isn't enough.

I agree one win is not enough. It is at least a sign that the Grizzlies might be getting their act together when it matters most. The games earlier in the year against OKC were with a completely different Grizzlies team. This team is starting to come together at the right time again.

Rough night tonight. Played good for 3 quarters and simply ran out of gas in the 4th. Do not blame them considering it was their 3rd game in 3 nights. Hopefully they can get one of the next two games.

Not only 3rd game in 3 nights, but 5th in 6 nights. All in different cities.

At least they got beat by a strong team that made shots down the stretch. In these rough patches of the schedule, I'm happy if they take care of business against the teams they should beat and sneak a win or two against playoff teams.

Now they travel to Miami and do a Back to Back against the Heat and home against Dallas.
Hopefully they can get at least 1 of those games. As much as I'd like them to beat the Heat, the Dallas game is huge.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Hollins pull the starters early in Miami if things start bad.

Memphis needs to keep winning. I don't want them falling to that 6th spot and facing the Lakers in round 1

I see the Grizzlies slotting at 4th-6th. After this rough stretch they have quite a few games against weak teams. They also have 8 of 13 at home.
Several easy teams Phoenix, Utah, @NO, @ Minnesota, NO, @Charlotte, Portland, Cleveland.
They also have @Miami, Dallas, LAC, @SA, Orlando.

Hollinger has them projected to finish 5th and face the Clips.

Clips have tie-breaker on them.
Saturday's game with Dallas is the tie-breaker, if needed.

Great win tonight. Complete domination of the Heat.

And Arenas went 4-5 from the 3 point line.

The 2nd unit that right now consists of Arenas, OJ, and Randolph has been huge in these big wins.

Memphis coming on strong. Yikes.

Beat both NBA Finalists in 2 nights. 4-1 in 6 days not too bad.

They've been winning 1st quarters.

The Heat and Mavs only scored 22 points. Combined.

Now, in saying that, in watching both those games, those other teams were shooting like crap in those 1st quarters.

Gilbert Arenas: 3-5 from 3

Arenas has really started to come on strong these last few games starting in OKC. Randolph has played well these last two nights as well. Big game monday versus the Clippers. A win moves the Grizzlies 1/2 game out of 4th.

Randolph in a minor car accident this morning.

Drove away, but had to miss shootaround today.

Now that Tony Allen is back, someone else has to miss a game.

Beat the LA Floppers tonight. Griffin and the Heliflopter drew about 3 calls on flops tonight.

After playing Miami, Dallas, And Lac, the Grizzlies have trailed a grand total of 12 seconds....when it was 4-2 tonight.


Also, out of the last 10 games the Grizzlies have won 8 of them. 5 of those were against Lal, Mia, Lac, Okc, Dal.

I think they could go 9-1 to close out the year, depending on the consequence of the game and how they are seeded.

Squeaked out what should have been an easy victory. What matters is that the Grizzlies are now 1/2 game back of LAC for 4th and 2 back of LAL for 3rd.

They are also only 2 games ahead of Denver for 8th as well.
