Maybe but his defensive liabilities scare me.

Honestly Reams lack of pace is a likely the biggest issue this game.

Ream's slowness is a liability in every match this tournament. Aussie's #9 and #17 on counters will remain scary. For Aussie, their defense was very well organized and after they took the lead and parked the bus, they were very hard to break down. We need aggressiveness and creativity playing direct and going to goal. That's why I advocate to replace CP with Pepi rather than a winger like aaronson or weah or another mf like we did with Berhalter in second half last week.

This was the starting lineup for the team that beat Australia back in October. Pulisic was subbed in the 30th minute due to injury

I'm definitely a big Reyna supporter, but I think you still keep him as a super sub for now.
I would expect maybe Aaronson or even wild card and Zendayas as being more like for like for Pulisic.

Can pepi or balogan function as a false 9 well enough to counter a 5-4-1. Two more static strikers will do poorly against a low block.

It looks like Turkey played a 4-2-3-1 which is not a great formation against a low block

I like Zendejas, he is quick and skillful, but I don't think anyone thinks Pochettino feels comfortable starting him in a world cup match at this time. I think these are the options:

start two #9s by adding Pepi
move Weston up to the wing and start Berhalter as a 6/8 central MF
start Aaronson or Reyna in CP's place- one of those two as i just don't foresee Poch going with Zendejas or Weah

If Turkey beats Paraguay and beats us, they win the group.

Yeah, Turkey needs to drop points for us to be able to clinch today. Also, the scenario described above wouldnt necessarily have Turkey as the group winner because Australia could also still end up with 6 points too in that scenario, leading to a 3 way tie and a break down of the ability to use the head to head tiebreaker.

I did not hear Paraguay's anthem last match; it is surprisingly upbeat for something called "Republic or Death!" C minus.
