Regarding the last goal:

If teams are tied on points at the end of the group stage, tiebreakers are used in this order to determine who advances:
1 Goal Differential: The total number of goals scored minus goals conceded across all group matches.
2 Total Goals Scored: The overall number of goals a team has scored.
3 Head-to-Head: The result of the match between the tied teams.
4 Fair Play Points: The fewest indiscipline points (yellow and red cards) accumulated.
5 Drawing of Lots: A random draw by FIFA.

Although it's impossible to project the knockout round matchups with any confidence under the new system, I saw that the path for the US to go deep would probably be easier if they finish 2nd in the group.

One hell of a game. At least the best since the 2014 World Cup. But honestly Paraguay is a decent team and that was an absolutely dominant performance. While we wouldn't necessarily be favorites in them, I'd say we have good chances against all but about 5 or 6 teams if we played like that.

That's a style of soccer Americans aren't used to seeing and playing like that consistently will go a lot way towards increasing the sports popularity here.

That's the first time I've ever seen our national team aesthetically look like a European power.

Those dudes were playing with so much confidence- some of the heel kicks and flick ons to combine with each other, through balls where everyone was making the runs they were supposed to be making, anticipating everything to win second balls and step up and intercept balls. I think I expected three points but didn't expect that kind of dominance in possession and creating scoring chances.
