For real though, it was a friendly against a solid side. Colombia came out faster and better organized and took advantage of our poor play in the back. Our midfield and attacking players finally got settled in and out together about 20' of good play in the first half. Still look a bit lost finding passes in the final third, but hopefully that'll gel quickly. Defensive miscues are worrying as they happened consistently regardless of personnel. Brazil will put ten on us if we don't clean that up but more importantly we'll crash out of Copa quickly too.


Hiring Berhalter back was probably a mistake but he's not going anywhere. USSF has made that bed and we're stuck with him through the WC

Pep will be available next summer. Give him one year to build excitement for the World Cup and then four years to develop this team in earnest.

Game thoughts:

- Turner looked rusty which tracks because he hasn't been getting minutes. I think he's the best we have but he's not in form.
- Jedi had a shocker but that's out of character for him, he'll bounce back.
- We actually had some decent moments in attack but the defense fell apart the last 20. I know Colombia is a good team and we did some experimenting, but the lack of cohesion could be concerning moving forward. We look stellar in some matches and totally on different pages in others.

Turner just doesn't look like the confident psychopath that he used to be. Seems like we have some u23 keepers that look promising if he can't figure it out soon.

ETA: He was far from the only problem, but he certainly didn't look good.
