Does anyone know if there is any pre match events in Aggie Park or around town?

I know the super starts at 1:00 over at Olsen, but aside from that, is there any kind of tailgating for the soccer match going on? I'd like to walk around and tell as many people "Howdy!" as I can and meet my future Brazilian wife.
Did you look at my post above yours?

do we know which sides are which supporter sections? i didn't see it listed anywhere when i bought my tickets.

on one hand, it could be fun if we're in a mexico section and mexico scores. my sons were at a mexico match years ago when they scored and all the beers were tossed in the air and we were all doused. fond memories. would do it again. on the other hand, we'd probably rather be surrounded by brazil supporters. we won't be supporting mexico.

couple of articles about the squads:

Mexico Copa America 2024 squad: Who Jaime Lozano will take to the United States

Brazil Copa America 2024 squad: Who Dorival Junior will take to the United States

of note:
Quote:

Lozano shocked a number of Mexico fans with the announcement of his preliminary squad when he left out six veteran stars who many expected to not just be on the Copa America roster, but play key roles this summer.

Among them were long-time goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa, Fulham striker Raul Jimenez and PSV forward Hirving Lozano.

Quote:

The all-time leading scorer for Brazil, and the symbol of football in their country for the past decade, Neymar will miss the tournament after he suffered an ACL injury while on international duty in October. Whether he even plays again for his country remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, 2022 World Cup hero Richarlison has missed out alongside Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus up top, while midfield stalwart Casemiro was the surprise omission as the veteran paid for his poor form with Manchester United. As previously laid out, goalkeeper Ederson will also play no part due to a late-season injury.

No, not really. That is at ~ 70 yards wide. During Aggie football games there is ALOT of room between the sideline and the walls, about 12 yards or so on BOTH sidelines. Standard football field is 53 1/3 wide, so total wall to wall surface area is ~ 77 yards.

The length is full regulation, the width is maybe 1-2 yards narrow, if at all, that is hardly a tiny pitch.

The answer to your question is the same about most things. $$$$. Someone has to pay for Jimbo.

To your second point, it is allowed. You have to pour it into a cup.

And they'll be selling and there are water fountains.

article posted a couple days ago Brazil squad settles in Orlando as they prepare for Copa America (msn.com)
Quote:

Several Brazilian youngsters arrived in Orlando a bit early to visit Universal Orlando Resort. Stars such as Alisson, Marquinhos, and Raphinha, however, made the trip to the Four Seasons Orlando to begin initial meetings last Thursday. Official training for the team then began a day later.

Three specific players that have yet to join their Brazil teammates in Orlando are Vincius Jnior, Rodrygo, and der Milito. The Real Madrid trio just recently beat Borussia Dortmund for the UEFA Champions League crown last weekend. Nevertheless, they will travel Stateside to meet up with the squad this week.

Nah. Lately with the threats of suspending the matches they wait.

They didn't do it at all against Costa Rico in the Nations league because if the match were suspended they'd lose. And they started against the US when it was dos a cero.

So, they'll wait.

I hope this does not turn out to be a huge mistake for Aggieland.

My one experience with international soccer, USA vs Mexico, was a nightmare; very unruly Mexican fans threw things into the USA fans' sections, yelled obscenities, continuously flipped the bird at Americans, and trashed the venue (Alamodome).

Fortunately, I was in a suite that was above the chaos. Never again.

Edit for spelling.

El Tri fans can be the worst. Their forbidden chant will certainly be chanted. Oh no! If they feel they've been wronged, projectiles will be thrown. Also though, their tailgating consists of Tecate light and public sects, some of them will be in their luchador masks and you can laugh at them. And, if they somehow score a goal, every beverage in the stadium will be tossed and sprayed into the air like it's raining, which can be pretty fun.

I was completely surrounded by El Tri fans for the CONCACAF Nations League match in March. They chanted as expected, but other than that, they were great to be around
