It'll be interesting to see how Hayes manages the attacking talent for the Olympic roster. Both Mallory Swanson and Cat Macario will be available for selection, although Macario may be more of a midfielder than forward.

Alyssa Thompson was left off GC roster. Not sure if she's in contention for Olympics or not.

US played Costa Rica. We had 26 shots (12 on goal), 16 corners, 80 percent possession, and couldn't score. Just no clue how to make the final pass. They are gonna get grouped at the Olympics for the first time if things don't get better.

US had 2.7 xG so it wasn't like they didn't have their chances. Just need a bit more composure around the goal.

Yeah, it was a frustrating night but it doesn't have me worried about the team's showing in Paris. Lots of minor deflections and shots that barely missed. Defending and passing was sharp.

Horan has always been slow, but getting even slower. They could really use a larger forward with some skills, but Abby Wambach I guess doesn't grow on trees. There is almost no threat on corner kicks, no one good at heading besides maybe Horan.

Don't forget Olympic roster size is limited to 18 so versatility is a big factor in roster selection.

Both Williams and Dunn can play multiple positions so not surprised they were picked ahead of others.

While not to the extent of last night, isn't that almost every game for the last few years? We are good for 1-2 offsides goals a game, the last pass is seemingly never there, relatively easy finishes not finished etc.
