A) Not really. They had to change it so Greece would stop vetoing their EU accession. There was nothing illegal about the name though.

B) I'll try and re-route this by saying Spain/Germany is going to be extra spicy and I can't wait till Sunday night

There actually are lyrics, but much like the lyrics to "The Stars and Stripes Forever" they're dumb and no one sings them.

Plus they were disavowed due to association with the Francoist regime.

Another fun fact: The German national anthem is from the same tune and same lyrics as the Nazi era, Deutschland, Deutschland uber alles, just a different verse.

Spain should be punished for allowing rudiger to hit that unmarked. Offsides there depends on the 100th of a second var decides to freeze the frame when the ball was played in. Not called offside by the referee on the field. Really lucky for Spain and unlucky for Germany.

Edit: they said it's automated technology on that offsides review. Still sooo close. No way an AR watching live on the side could put their flag up there.

Trying to one-time it on frame on the run like that is really hard. Asensio is a world class striker- just didn't realize he had enough space for two touches there. Would have scored easily.

Ridiculously, they are actually still in OK shape if they can hold this to 1-0.

A Spain shutout over Japan and a 2-0 defeat of Costa Rica would send them through.

Spain still technically won't have qualified for the next round in the beginning, so they should probably be trying (at least in the 1st half).

I disagree. It's the lesser of two evils. It's far worse if they get it wrong but play gets stopped so there's no goal.
