I am starting to get bad vibes with the time its taking on Pochettino. Hope they get it wrapped up today and he can come out and wave to fanes at game tonight. This has taken waaaay too long.

USSF is a non-profit, so this is just like every big-name college coach.Pahdz said:
So we had no shot at a hire this big without the help of a gazillionaire hedge fund guy? What a world!

Stereotype of big only big strong Americans advancing Sullivan and Pulisic are proof this is not true.

Or maybe Messi is pretty small for a 37 year old.
I'm probably wrong, but I read Rudy's post as a veiled joke about Messi's height instead of a genuine comment about Cavan's.

That dude doesn't look 14 to me. He might be 5'7" but, he sure doesn't look 14.
I also look up 5'7" and that's close the the 32nd percentile for 14 year olds in the usa.
Who?mikejones! said:
Well, he's taller than 60% of kids his age.
I'd wager he's bigger and stronger as well, simply because you don't see 14 year olds being able to hang physically with grown ass men.
I don't know why it matters. The idea that we wouldn't be a better soccer nation if our most gifted athletes chose soccer over football or basketball is pretty sound.
Who?mikejones! said:
No, i haven't seen it.
But, that just helps verify my point.
I'm simply saying that in a nation like France, their best athletes tend to play soccer.
their best athletes can play with our best athletes in athletic competitions and vice versa. However, our best athletes tend to choose football or basketball first, and train a those from youth. If those same top .01% of the worlds best athletes instead chose soccer and trained at it from youth onward, it stands to reason we might be a better soccer program. This isn't a novel or particularly unique point of view.
That said, because he could "cover" a professional wr doesn't mean he could play in the NFL. There's lots of people who have covered NFL receivers who didn't make it to the NFL.
*Just reread you said football and not the NFL. Yes, I'd wager most professional soccer players could play football
to be fair, he'll be 15 in less than 2 weeksAston94 said:Rudyjax said:

Looks pretty big…for a 14 year old.
It’s hilarious how Juventus writes Weston McKennie off every year; he plays and proves his worth.
