I think a couple of these players could really benefit from a good showing this tournament.
on the big team in the Copa just sitting there waiting for GGG to NOT play him? I think he's doing just fine at the Olympics. Tessmann has taken a smart pathway so far and he's put himself in positions to be successful. Cheers to him to being at the Olympics where he's team captain and playing 90' and didn't get picked for the Copa roster.Rudyjax said:jessexy said:
Methinks Tessmann prolly making himself some money with his performances in the Olympics (pre-tourney games and actual games). He's captaining the squad and really commanding the middle. His passing range has been stellar. He made several passes across the field right onto the foot of a teammate that have been amazing.
He really should've been on the senior team this summer. He was the highest rated player on his Serie B Venezia team last season. Will love to see how he plays in Serie A.

We need more of that on the team. Too many nice guysjeffk said:
Yeah, he shows a lot of promise. Kind of an ******* too which I appreciate.

I'm not Tessman would've benefitted from sitting on the bench at Copa. Would you have played Tessman over Cardoso, given how Cardoso played once he got to La Liga?

Considering Tyler Adams was coming off a major hamstring injury and on a minutes restriction for each game of the tournament, it might've been more beneficial to have Tessmann there instead of Adams altogether. And Tessman is familiar with the other FCD guys at minimum so there's nothing lost in midfield with McKennie.akm91 said:

Tessmann hardly overlapped McKennie and had only a year overlap with Richards at FC Dallas, back in 2017. There is no familiarity to speak of outside the few callups to MNT. Cardoso, De La Torre and even Gio has more familiarity with McKennie, Musah and Adams than Tessman.Quote:

McKennie won't be playing for Juve this season.

Now, La Gazzetta dello Sport claim McKennie's shirt is no longer up for sale at the club.
We also knew he wasn't playing for them because he hasn't been on the roster for friendless. Hell, he didn't even play in the intra squad senior team versus youth team.akm91 said:

McKennie amongst others not in Juve plans
He is until he isn't. They said this last year and then he started 29 games for them in the league. He has 1 year left on his deal so a lot of teams aren't going to pay a ton for him when they can get him for free in 12 months. While the obvious incentive is to find a new club that you can actually play at, you can also get paid a ****load of money just to show up to training everyday. Pretty cush life for Weston for a year.akm91 said:

Motta has told several players they are out of the picture which leaves them with a pretty thin squad. Only takes an injury or two before he has to play some of the guys he's saying are out.
Nine years. 312 appearances. Three promotions.

Just because they didn't play on the same youth team doesn't mean they aren't familiar with each other. They are VERY familiar. The system allows for it as they train together and tend to come back "home' at the same time. There are many connections in the FCD youth system too. Not relenting that they can stay connected via all kinds of socials and group chats and even the standing FIFA matches on PS5 they have.akm91 said:Tessmann hardly overlapped McKennie and had only a year overlap with Richards at FC Dallas, back in 2017.
