Point is they had the opportunity to hire Marsch and didn't. Further, their "budget" is quite known…cheap! They need to spend money on a great coach, but don't.

I was quite critical of Ream even being on the roster before the last World Cup and I was 100% proven wrong. I thought he was too slow and old but he proved me to be completely wrong, as he was great for us. He's going to be missed greatly for his play and more importantly his leadership.

It's why depth is something your are always building, always calling in new and younger players to get them involved. No roster locks

Absolutely. Look at the women's team last WC. There are a ton of other factors, but locking the roster with the core group and no challenging hurt us.

Yeah. I saw since leaving NYRB he's only been healthy 58% of the time. Ouch.
Also, I can't help but observe that he's reinjured himself on both of his last two USMNT outings. It's clear that he wants to push himself to play, but at some point I question his minutes management.
Maybe the next coach will realize it's a bad idea to keep playing a guy who hasn't played for his club. Especially when you have a La Liga starting 6 on the bench.

Methinks Tessmann prolly making himself some money with his performances in the Olympics (pre-tourney games and actual games). He's captaining the squad and really commanding the middle. His passing range has been stellar. He made several passes across the field right onto the foot of a teammate that have been amazing.

He really should've been on the senior team this summer. He was the highest rated player on his Serie B Venezia team last season. Will love to see how he plays in Serie A.
