I can't wait for Adams to return.

I've been critical of his lack of offense (and yes, I'm comparing to other 6's when I make those complaints), but now that early returns say that Poch's got our offense cooking - we don't need Adams to contribute to the offense beyond what he's already good at (distributing to playmakers).

We do desperately need him to do what he's world class at doing - providing coverage for our leaky back line. Especially when Poch has our FB's running wild.

It's fun to imagine what this team could look like with a few more months under Poch and some key guys returning.
OR..... Tessmann's presence allowed for better passing in midfield than Adams (or anyone else for that matter) provides. Which, in turn, starts the attack faster with less time for the opponents to organize. This opens the field for USA to "do it's thing" which is run fast with the ball and put pressure on opponents. It's completely opposite of what GGG would do and it's AMAZING.

Adams might not have a spot if he doesn't hurry back from injury. He'd be the defensive sub with 20 minutes left when USA has to defend a lead. And that's a good thing too.

On the pro v. college opportunities, there are MORE professional opportunities than ever before right now. There are about to be 30 MLS teams and almost 40 USL C teams (Counting expansion). Then you have USL 1 and MLS Next Pro. These are pro levels that are taking away from the college game. College men's programs are eking closer and closer to a professional format. They're trying to go to a fall/spring schedule like FIFA with more games played.

NPSL, UPSL, MPL, etc all these leagues are semi-pro. we've got people playing. We just need the money to get the better athletes to stick with soccer over other sports.

Women's pro soccer has doubled in the last 2 years with NWSL expansion and the USL Super League. I'm afraid that the 2 league competing to sign younger player straight from youth soccer is going to hurt the women's college game as well. Time will tell how this helps the international game though.
