IMHO there is a turf battle between the US Soccer Referee development program designed to identify national referees and ultimately nominate them for international duty and the PRO group that wants to control referees at the professional level.

At one time not too long ago there were only 4 male FIFA referees and 3 of them were from South Texas.

Palmer-Brown did alright down the stretch v. Mexico. Doubt he'd provide much offense but he did well defensively.
