Adds depth to the midfield, but I wanted Kounde to add to the defense.

Completely agree, but not mad that we didn't get pushed around by Sevilla. Had a verbal agreement and told them to kick rocks when they tried to up the price afterwards.

100% with you, if you have a price stick to it. Doesn't matter if that price is for Kounde, Lukaku, or Haaland. Especially if you have a deal in principal. Also, not a great reputation builder for teams that might want to do a deal with Sevilla in the future. Understanding personnel needs and value is what it takes to be successful at that job.

I do wonder if at some point Chelsea says "I can't go back to my boss with a higher price after we had an agreement. He's a Russian oligarch, they don't take bad news well. And if he gets bad news from me, he's also getting bad news from you."

I am happy we made a move and are better today than before the deal. I still think Chelsea's biggest strength going forward is they have the best depth in the EPL. They might not be at the top level for starting 11, though not far off, but they have the personnel to weather some injuries that a lot of other teams don't. Look at Arsenal, how many players on their team make it onto the field if they play for Chelsea?

Also, they didn't go crazy. After looking at the weekly salaries, Man U went insane. Half of the top 10 paid players in the EPL are on their payroll right now. Followed by 3 for City, and 2 for Chelsea.

Ronaldo's wage is just insane. Part of that i'm sure is revenue from increased merchandise sales and advertisement. But I'm not sure that there aren't 10-15 players in the EPL you wouldn't take over him.

It didn't look like he turned it when he flipped, but he jumped out of the way on a ball going out and he looked like he got shot.

He picked up an ankle sprain in the US/Honduras game. My understanding is it's due to that.

Great game yesterday. Lukaku with 2 nice goals. Happy Kovacic got a score, he's an unsung hero but so good. One of the best handlers in the world. Was a really different lineup to start the game but looked better in the second half. Villa was aggressive and smart with the ball in the first half. Mendy was out of his mind today, another clean sheet.

4 matches played, 10 points, only goal conceded was on a PK.

Tottenham got beat up by crystal palace which is surprising.

Man U looked really good, but Newcastle failed to take advantage of several opportunities. The top 4 teams from last year are still the same we see right now. We will learn a lot from the matches with city and united.

Nice 1-0 win at the Bridge. 1-0-0 in champions league group.
